Here is a better shot of rim I took care of. Weld inside and I will grind it a smooth but leave some meat on it so never have to ever have it crack again. These rims are some of the dirtiest aluminum to weld on.
Have to keep stopping and wire brushing the dirt coming up out of weld.

What does that have on the 360 for boinkers? Marzocchi and Sachs shock?

Drew is good with suspension. It will make a world of difference when you get it back.

Was it not worth lil bit of elbow grease ?

First set polished. Only 6 more to go. But those are already done about 3/4 of the way. So I can get those done faster.

Watch, anodizer will probably say: oh you didn't have to polish them that good!

Well, I thought I screwed up on rims. I have two types of aluminum welding rods,
4043 and 5356. 4043 when anodized, turns grey or black in the process. So, got me thinking? What if I used the 4043 rods. Well when got home. Belined it to shop and I was using 5356! Woooo! That's a relief!

Check this stuff out if we ever need to make some rubber parts.

    Interesting:

Comes in red, blue, black and green!

Might mess around making a mold to make some fender spacers? Wonder if you could make colored shock bumpers, colored ignition grommets, special intakes, handle bar bushings, or boots?

Stuff would be nice to have around shop in a pinch!

Typpy getting too old for this stuff! Might need a nap!

Here is what the rims look like after last polishing! Went from turdish to purtish!

Almost hate to anodize over that now!

4 done 2 more to go!

Wasn't there a movie or show called Rim Tin Tin?

Ha! My hands are solid black! Relax! It comes off with PP! Purple Power!

Hey, that's good stuff. Buy 5 gals for like $14 and don't even use parts washer any more!
Just soak, brush and after a year. Get rid of it in your neighbors yard!

No, they have wooden pistons in them. Cut off broom handles for fork springs. Shock reservoirs are filled with silicone.
They are just to look at.

i was thinking it would be tough for some to mentally get them dirty after how showroom they are. they should hold up great when you use them, lots of mechanical improvements
