Trying out that new KBS Diamond Clear on a swing arm first. So far, suggest a tack coat till product sets up tacky. Then apply second coat. Say I have to wait 1-2 hours between coats. I can see, cause it will run easy.

So far so good, got last coat on and has finally dried. Did get a couple of runs but used my finger with little KBS thinner on it to even it out. Run vanishes because stuff is self leveling and blends right back in.

The clear has to be sprayed on real light, not like auto clear.

Will post few pics in morning.

Hoping this clear closes the gap between base coat/clear vs powdercoat.

Inspirational! Joe Chod keeps pushing me, that it's time to "spruce up" my very original, but very worn '82 250WR. I guess this Winter will be the time.

Here is a little tip for those chain tensioner tubes, where the spring is worn through the tubes. Just go to Home Improvement Store. Get these spring clips. I used 3/4 inch ones. Take pliers and slide them over tube so that they cover the worn area ( I generally use 2). Then take a punch and flatten the little tabs so the spring slides back over and sometimes they just snap off. They wont move and stay in place due to tension on them.

Thanx Norm! I've seen your bike from several past posts. When your ready, send me your tank. Is that one black/gold or that dark blue/gold? I may not have the Dark Blue, but I have the clear and the gold. Any dents in tank? Will take care of ya!

    So, here is a thought?

My 79 390 OR is or was gonna be my rider. It is being transitioned into the 80 Cr 390.

My 82 CR250, do I make that my rider or turn it into a fancy NW? Meaning Husky Never Was.

I could do red tank/black pinstriping/emblem, black frame, polished hubs/brake plates, polished triple clamps, red forklegs/black husqvarna lettering or polish the forklegs/red husqvarna lettering, red ohlins shock body/with black or white springs, polished shock reservoir. Make a polished aluminum brake lever, polished aluminum brake arm/chain guide, and do black rims? Red lettering on black seat? Could polish the engine cases/accent husky emblems on engine red and clear? It takes time but can even polish the cylinder and head. The thought of doing all those fins with sand paper/paint stirring stick? But I did it years ago on my 430 head.

Or because of value, leave well enough alone?

    I have all winter?

    I will value your imput?

I always thought Red/gold tank theme would look cool, gold letters on the seat, black Ohlins with Red/gold springs, sand blasted top end,
polished triples, levers, brake arms, foot pegs, i'd leave rims stock, never was much on black wheels (takes away the contrast). food
    for thought...:D

Here are couple of pics I did with modern Husky's.

Notice the polished engine parts/fork tubes/swing arm, shock reservoir on my WR250, I had.

How about a copper metallic/gold husky? Black trim?

That's about the only color husky didn't use.

    Orange = Penton

But copper metllic? Instead of Cr call it a CH (copperhead)?

    Colors look good together.

    Copper tank, gold pinstriping/gold emblem?

Actual i think i saw one in that color combo this past Sat at Snoops vintage ride, wish i had taken a pic of it. it looked cool, sort of like those 70's Pentons
with that copper, sort of burnt orange tanks

The GTO is a 600hp, 455 pontiac ram air. I just pulled it out to get ready to sell @ muscle car auction.

Yes, due to weather, we have lot of time to do projects.
