My 50mm Zokes re-valved for me 6'6" 210 lbs are great for the woods as I think most open chamber forks have the potential to be. They are not good on a MX track but in all fairness they were not valved for that. That said, my other two bikes (both Yamahas with re-valved SS forks) are awesome everywhere, in fact they are better than the re-valved Ohlins I had on my GasGas. Your original post doesn't say what terrain you intend to be riding and I'm guessing it's for the TE300 in your info. If your YZ450 is late model then you already have an opinion on the KYB forks so why not add switching to KYBs as option #3?

Don't waste your money. The 16 forks are fine.

You certainly don't need to spend big bucks. Plus ZipTy has a great solution to the bottoming issues as well.

I finally got a chance to really flog my new 15 TE300 and don't know what the fuss is. The forks were fine and I'm
6'2" - 210lbs. Set kind of stiff, they handled deep braking bumps/chop, log crossings and did not deflect when
flying down trails with large rocks scattered here and there. My 09 WR300 Marzokes needed an exorcism. They
were ok in the tight and twisties, but could be terrifying at high speed when hitting rocks or tree roots. Coupled with
the Michelin tires you could find yourself on the ground real fast and unexpectedly.

I have yet to read a mag review that said the forks were as bad as some of the comments I have read on this site, and after
riding it.....I'm a little confused. Will log some more time riding more terrain extremes and see. I'm not one to pick the
fly shit out of the pepper.....so may just not be spoiled yet by a truly excellent fork. My 06 KTM 250XC had great forks, and
these just don't seem that bad. I tried to get them to do something weird.......and couldn't. Will try again and update, hopefully
    in good health. ;)
