Through extensive testing we have come up with a great addition to the Lectron offerings. This is the new 4 stroke carb. It has been tested on several bikes and seems to perform very well. The initial testing was very positive and yielded great response, mid and top power. The issue was trying to get a steady idle and consistent low speed running and eliminate a hanging idle. The 4 stroke requirements far much more specific especially at the low end. This was addressed by including a air bleed bypass screw. This circuit allows a very fine adjustment of the low speed. Also aids in starting. We feel pretty confident at this point that this carb will be a great addition to the Lectron / Motosportz offering and are available now. If you are interested let me know what bike and such and we will make it happen.
What are you using for the throttle position sensor on late model carbed 610s? Do we just elimate the TPS or does that screw up the ignition advance?
I asked that and was told it is not an issue to eliminate it. That and the lack of an accelerator pump had me thinking it would not work well but test prove that it runs great.
I'll ask the obvious: would it work for the EFI bikes? EDIT: Just thought I would ask that early in the thread so that was answered for most people that are reading this.
Consensus is no, not without a lot of work. To many things interact with EFI, the ECU etc. Anything can work but it would take way to much to make it happen.
OK, I'm pretty interested but I have a few questions that I'm sure others would like answers too also so I'll go ahead and ask them here. The bike is a 2006 TE 610 (carbed version) Right now it has a push me pull me throttle arangement so how do we adapt to a single cable straight pull? How is the fit between the manifold and air box? Although the choke on the lectron dosen't appear to be in any worse spot than the factory one it would be nice to have it dash accessable. Is that possible? Has anyone got any real world experience with this on a 610? And of course the obligitory "how much does it cost" question.
Includes a cable and throttle fits as stock (FCR's are big so they actually add some) Yes, no problem on the long cable choke Will ask but don't think so. CH member will be testing one ASAP. About $400 fully configured.
I'd like to replace the Mikuni TMR on my 04 TE250 with the 4T Lectron. What size Lectron is recommended for this bike?
I think that is a good swap, those carbs are just OK and not EZ to tune. My 04 TE450 ran OK but was always thinking it could be better. Shoot me a regular Email if you would.
Im very interested in this carb. Is there any chance of a trial or rental kind of deal? Can pm me if you'd like but I remember with the two strokes there was a ton of passing around to get people a chance to try them out. Im a bit worried about bogging/performance on a racing 250f. If its anything like the 2 strokes Im sold but its hard to plop down the $$$ with basically no feedback on the 4 strokes.
Email me, might be able to work something out. for FRC equipped bikes I'm not sure there is going to be huge gain but then again some guys who race with lectron say there is. For older bikes with non FCR carb and especially Dellorto, CV carbs or bing or any of that stuff I would imagine huge gains.
