Right got the chain adjuster and bolt fitted and the new ignition switch

Took her for a little ride and the power vavle still wasn't opening all the time (once in a while tops)

Pulled over and unplugged the 2 power and controler cables and gave them a blow and wiggle and headed back with what seems great success! Pv opening in every gear!

How as I rev the bike on the spot I can feel the bottom pv cable tug but the top doesn't

Again this is on the spot and I'm unsure if it moves whilst driving as it's a very different set up compared to my old rs with 1 cable. Anyway it feels like it's working correctly but she still tops out at 62 on the clocks on stock gearing, it just gets there in seconds 8-)

that sounds like what mine does if i haven't cleaned the pv , sometimes you woosh off other times it has very good low down power but not the same power surger up top, I am 99 % sure the clocks do nothing to the pv system, even electrically, I know there is a cylinder with the pv in the front of it, that is connected to some cables, they run back up to above the kickstart area and connect to a servo that turns back and forwards, and that is operated and told when to go back and forth by an electrnic rectifier or something mounted on the frame, afraid I can't tell you which it is, I've got three things like that and I don't know what they all do! I would take off your cylinder, right off the piston, dissconnect the powervalve cables so you can pout it on a table or clean surface, then get some carb cleaner or apparenty oven cleaner? and use that on the pv to clean off the carbon deposits. Then connect it back up and see if it operates more smoothly :D

I have a feeling it's somthing to do with the white plugs from the power valve servo motor

If I unplug them and reconnect the pv seems work spot on, it sometimes works spot on and sometimes only on and off

Will get to the bottom of it eventually 8-)

    Ok a little more info

I took the motor and solenoid off the bike

All seems clean and tidy, is there a way to test this out of the bike?

I have pulled the "open" cable tight so the pv is open and yes you can feel the power at the top end, obviously I have lost a bit of mid and low end grunt

The pv itself is lovely and smooth and free, pulling the cables opens and shuts the blade with ease

So now I need to start testing bits

My display is partially showing it seems to have a fault as you can push on the edges of the screen and the display will show correctly. I think the sm a is meant to have a rev counter on the right but mine dosent display one.

Any help in the electrics side would be great. I shall have too look into clock replacements 8-)

Hey all, I now own the bike that CreamSodaUK used to have and I still have the same issue with the powervalve despite the clocks being fixed, any help in regards to the powervalve is greatly appreciated! On another note I can't seem to route the throttle cable properly and am wondering since it keeps sticking somewhere whether i'll need a new cable or not or if theres a nac to it? Again all help is greatly appreciated!

can you upload a video to you tube and link it here? Show the routing the throttle cable is doing. Mine I maxed it out, it goes to the oil pump then then clips into the frame, then the carb, then goes back into one line again which sits underneath the fuel tank, up out past the tiny radiator hose, around the back of the bars and then up to the right hand bar, it goes a little further as I've stuck it behind the foam bit on the bars, gives it about a third more tension as it has further to travel
