    Interesting....

I have noticed no performance change with different brands of fuel but always use 91 octane.

Also I have noticed no performance change with mild altitude changes,

No performance change with engine temp, lets say running hot on a trail it still has full power/cold start in the morning and a minute of warm up and it has full power.

Idling at 2-3 lights with the fan on stopped, and when I take off the bike feels to have full power.

I have not felt any detonation or bogging when revving up at high rpm in any conditions.

I have the nick burson Ignition map and fuel, then auto tune on top of that. Auto tune works great and keeps the AFR close in different climates so that works.

I would figure with the zip ty ignition map and a open airbox and pipe I would be more sensitive to fuel quality and when the bike is hot might detonate? So far no issues?

I also add a bit of lucas oil lube every other few tanks. Out of habit and the fact that ill have this thing for a very very long time so a little fuel inj cleaner/"lubricant" is worth a shot.

SWEET AND CONGRATS!! Lots of good info here. I have had suspension lowered front and rear and you lose the travel, Seems to work OK but does affect handing but probably not as bad as raising the forks till they hit the bars! Good luck and congrats!

Ty and I use an Iridium spark plugs - 449/511, FC/450/FE501 NGK CR9EIX (3521), We prefer Shell fuel because it is cleaner/safer (fewer particulate for 20 micron fuel injectors). We use Startron, Stabil or Lucas, which ever is convenient, as a minimum. And we use an booster such as Lucas or Xylene. Mixed at a rate of 0.5-1.0 ounces per gallon.

I am getting an iridium plug (its on order)

that is funny because I use the lucas fuel additive every couple of tanks. Maybe I will just add a capful every tank from now on. Also I get gas from shell every day so lucky coincidence :)

RE: too powerful in the dirt. No it isn't.

Learn to control your right hand. There are times when you want power in the dirt and there are times when you must apply it carefully.

Remember I am totally new to dirt riding!

It has way more power than I need for tight riding, but I could see in the desert where it would be perfect. It is funny because on the street is the opposite, I yearn for more and more power. Wish it had about 55 to the wheel and could shed 15lbs off the weight! Then it would be a perfect dual sport. It is nice in the dirt because I just twist the throttle and it pulls up any hill that has traction. Easy to ride up hills for sure. But on rough tight trails I find myself allover the place with the thing, even after setting the suspension up a bit, still quite hard for me to manage so far.

What is the size and model of your MPP tires..Really looks great...With that 40 tooth sprocket does it open up the shifting a bunch more? Does it continue to pull in 6th gear and what is the top speed?

Michelins are just pilot power, front is 120/70zr/17, rear is 150/60zr/17, the 40 tooth made it great for the street but too tall for trails, wide open dirt or desert it would work. Shifting is great, no issues at all, it pulls nice in all gears, wheelies nice in 3rd about 40 to 50 mph. I'll attach a rear tire photo so you can see tread design. Top speed haven't done that yet, I would say 80 ish maybe a little more. For top speed I have a kawasaki zx 10, 187 mph lol (haven't done that yet either) image.jpg

The crazy part is you put me on a sportbike and speed is almost a non issue. Get out of the trees and into an open area on the dirt bike and let off in 4th gear lol
