A little late responding. What i meant was I put off getting one, and when i finally got around to purchasing one, shipping the Altrider plate was much quicker, because Bill's had it in stock versus waiting a week+ from AUS for the B&B. I do like the B&B plate more I think.
When I bought my bike the dealer had already installed the factory skid plate and I certainly got my moneys worth out of it. A few weeks ago I bottomed out on a huge A frame rock and hit the drain plug so that it deformed the bolt and spun it maybe a quarter turn loose. I didn't realize it at the time but the next morning I saw a bit of oil under the bike. You can also see in the other pic where I had scraped the outer case as the plate didn't extend out enough. I went with the Altrider and am very pleased with the quality and ease of the install.
