Can you guys post what it says on the plastic bag of the USB sticker. For example, 630 TE black H on the fender, and the 'imprinted in' 630 on the side (only TE on the sticker). the plastic bag of a usb sticker says my 2011 Trying to figure out if there are variations on the model depending on the date
Here's what the sticker on the USB bag says: 8000H1155 SM TE 630 MY 11 USB 2 27042010 Q.C. Pass Hope this helps.
The 630's sure make the older bikes "old" if you know what I mean. Bought a 2007 XR650R a year ago. Cracker of a bike. Then got a SM630 6 months ago. That changed a lot of things. Recently did the PU kit and a JD Jetting kit as well. Am about to take delivery of my TE630 this week.....aaaaahhhhh man the 630's are such nice bkes....cant wait, just 3 more sleeps...
Thumperama brought it up, but I didn't see a response. What is this thing that comes with the new bike?
Chain for the USB key. The rubber part holds the USB key cap when the USB key is in use.. (At least thats the only use I could figure it was for.)
I can't hear a top end rattle on my SM630. Of course I have had the FMF on it since I brought it home...
So that's what that thing is.... Regarding my comment about the top end rattleing....I saw on the ADV forum where someone else was worried about their top end rattleing and posted a video of his motor idling. Based on several responses that they all sound like that. So I'm not going to worry about it (not that I was losing any sleep over it anyway). Seems every motor has its own special sound. That's one of the things I love about my Triumph triples. That and the flat torque curve.
That was my video/audio. To a certain extent all thumpers are going to have a fair amount of top end/valve train noise. Mine runs terrific though, but I still can't figure out why I can't get past 35 mpg's on the thing (and, if anyone is interested in that please chime in, the thread is at http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=507511&page=94 pages 93 and 94 of that thread.) Now as long as we're going through the "what came w/ the bike" thing I had (in addition to the usb, etc.) a 3" x 3" piece of black padded foam in my box...you know, just the sheet type (about 3-4 mm thick) that is adhesive on one side. Not sure why this was in there...may have just been thrown into the box at the dealer. If it does have a purpose I'm curious as to what it is.
35 mpg sounds real low.why so low, any idea?i think the black piece of foam goes in the battery box as a cusshion.dan
Thanks for asking Dan. That's what I am trying to figure out, which is what's on pages 93 and 94 of the link above. My gut says that it has to do w/ the dealer not tweaking the ECU after the p/u kit (which isn't "required") or, more to the point, tweaking after we manually adjusted the idle post p/u install. Please see the pages/link above and let me know if you have an opinion (it starts on page 93, about 2/3 down.) I may start a new thread here, on CH, as there seems to be much more activity on this site (which, BTW, I really appreciate this site!) The bummer of it is that I do not have the iBeat (nor JD) and I am 6 hours round trip to the dealer I bought it from. I am also 4 hours round trip from the nearest dealer....so trying to figure this out on my own to save a trip or trips. What's more puzzling is that the bike runs very well- very strong throughout the range, good starts/idle, etc. Other than this worry (as I am not worried about mpg's per se, but about damaging/wearing something) I really love the bike. Thanks- Eric
I wondered whether the p/u kit would automatically re-programme the ECU but didnĀ“,t have to worry as I got the twin Arrows at the same time ... and they came with a new black box. Mine now does 170 kms on a full tan (comparable with my CCM 644 which does a bit more, but has less power).
I didn't get a black piece of foam with mine (I'll have to check the battery box), or the parts they took off when the power up kit was installed. I haven't put enough miles on to even check my mileage yet, but it does seem to run really well. I've got family driving down from Kansas this weekend to check out the new bike. There may be a couple more sold pretty soon . It's been monkey see, monkey do between us since we were little kids.
I just checked and there are 3,900 online at the moment... with 15M posts Not busy enough for you? Feel free to start up a thread, whatever you want to do.. FYI - we have the luxury of having a 3 character search, so in theory you should be able to search for mpg...
Huge thanks. Yes, this site is great. I was referencing ADV when I said that this site (CH) has much better activity (than ADV, on the 630.) Spent quite some time last night going back through the many pages. Oh- and yes- I'll try that search! Enjoy the weekend...ride safe.
Just picked one up today. With blow-out pricing and super low financing from BMW how can you miss?? Whoohoo
Do you mind me asking, how much did you pay and what are the BMW specials, man I NEED one of these bikes Sethro
OTD pricing seems to be in the $7-7500 range. Mine was at the upper end there. In AZ you should be able to score at the lower end. Plus freight, prep, and tax and license. Some of those fees are negotiable. Husky dropped the list price on the TE to $6495 in June. That was the clincher for me. What else can you buy for that? A new KTM 450exc was gonna be over ten grand. Here's the promo with BMW financing at 3.99%, zero down, 60mo, for first-tier buyers. You do need to have an auto loan in your history to qualify. We already had an account with BMW NA Bank from wifey's 325 'vertible. http://husqvarna-motorcyclesna.com/sales-promotion.php
