Sorry guys, it is a TXC afterall. Now I gotta put lights on it and figure out how to get a license for it.

Ah, well now we still need to hook up and see if the TXC is any better.

Are you getting this bike from a shop or a deal with Husky?

ridden both the 450 and 510 (and 250) in TE/TXC forms back to back several times. It's not that the TXC is really all that much better just more aggressive and race bike like. i find the limits on the TE's suspension and wish it had more snap. The TXC has a lot more snap and works better that harder you push it prompting you to push it harder. The TE gets upset when you push it real hard IMHO. The suspension gives up and the motor needs more. I'm talking racing here. i am in no way bashing the excellent TE. The TXC is a purpose made race bike.

We do many rides in the winter at a meeting place where all sizes and flavors are represented. All these guys will swap bikes to try and it is really interesting to try them all back to back. All great bikes. In fact those rides are about to fire back up. (winter area we meet at)

Perhaps a bit off topic...However, can anyone tell me what the stock spring rate is for the rear shock on the '08 TE510..??:)

It was in the owners manual for 2006, 2008 manual might also have it for the 2008 bikes.

The manuals say it's a 5.6 kg/mm and the fork is .45 kg/mm. The TXC have the same shock spring but, the fork is .50 kg/mm.

I agree, but I like the way "MY" TE motor works. With this much motor I want it smooth. It makes me ride it harder because there is no hit and it takes away the "feeling" you're going fast because of the hit. Without that little "rush" your brain gets from the hit you twist it harder looking for a "rush" and go faster.

Suspension, that's pretty easy to fix. IMO any bike should have the suspension set up for the rider. The TE has a lesser fork, but it's workable.
