  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc new 2 stroke husky's have cable clutches?

ktm marketing is n wankerville? lol ... I'd say these things are a luxury item at best ... but then they are not really luxurious :) ...

its simple preference is all. I like the clutch feel of my two magura equipped singles, more than the feel of my cable equipped triple. It's apples to oranges, but still personal preference.

i wont let it stop me from trying and loving a wr250 though, although all this talk about the wr150 kind of has me thinking of trying out one of those... but at 190-200lbs i'm a little on the large side for the little motor (or at least i would think)

and if I DID get a WR... i'd probably upgrade the clutch perch anyway, because to me upgrading and making the bike exactly how you want it is part of the fun of riding it. I'll ride anything, but i'm very picky about how the things that I OWN are.

I have a Hebo hydraulic over cable clutch conversion set up on my WR360. IMO it is no easier to pull than the stock WR250 cable actuated clutch. The only advantage of the hydraulic set up is that it is self adjusting.

I also tried a Magura full hydraulic conversion on an '08 Yamaha YZ250 and it was a harder pull than a Husky WR250 with a cable.

The hydraulic AJB clutch on my Beta trials bike is a different story altogether. The pull on it is so light you can do it with your pinky finger but that's not an apples to apples comparison.

what attracted me to my Wr300 from my KTM was the simplicity of it. The more fancy stuff they add like push button starts and hydro clutchs and FI the more that can go wrong. frankly I thought I would miss my hydraulic clutch on my KTM but the husky so outshines my KTM is so many areas by so much I never think about it.

LOL and I thought my name was bad.....:lol:

What kind of clutch did Ricky Carmichael use for all of his championships? Surely someone else, maybe Bubba or McGrath, would have put in a hydro clutch if it was much of an advantage. It's not. It's wankerville. a.k.a. pure KTM marketing. Sure there are some nice advantages to it (I've had two), but it's not a must have.

totally agree! i notice no difference

Given the choice I'd have hydraulic.Had 3 bikes with them & never had a single problem.Since owning my WR300,have snapped cable, always needing to lube & adjust it, & is definitely heavier.
