I've found the official link in the website of the company ..http://www.husqvarna-motorcycles.com/_vti_g5_nwArt.aspx?idnews=1262&IdCat=12&rpstry=188_ also reachable from the official Facebook page of the company ... It's sure that a new bike concept is born and I think that this new bike will have a more affordable price than a BMW !!! Don't you think so ?
Ah ... but they take good care not to show you the bike. The only project that was on display is the elephant man of all bikes (!)
I like the looks of the Aprilia Shiver and some of Aprilia's new Adventure line. The split fender on the Trail model doesn't look good to me. A 900 Husky street bike like the renders above would be sweet. A 900 Husky ADV. bike would be sweet to. Maybe they will build both like BMW has with their 800 motor. If Husky does put it in a ADV. bike I hope they don't go with low hanging pipes or that fugly bird beak front end like on the BMW F800GS. How ever Husky pulls it off I imagine we all will like it. Husqvarna didn't start with off road bikes, like their tee shirt depicts.
The sketches are interesting and show some promise. The two 10 yr olds in the color chop are funny. I hope the Italian side is going to be prevalent in the actual bike. I've ridden the BMW 800R naked bike and it is a disappointment to its class IMO. Weak on power and cold to look at. It's got to compete with Triumph's 675 Street Triple, 1050 Speed Triple, Ducs, Apes and even the Jap naked's. Hoping for a surprise, Husqvarna!
I'm much less excited about the above drawings than I was about that artist concept on page 2. The first one looked aggressive, fast and mean. This one has slight similarities to that horrible SMQ thing a few years ago.
The question might be: 'How well will the general, non-dirt bike riding Husky people' like that plastic on the tank and around the seat? Myself, I like it :0)
did you see the new site? http://900.husqvarna-motorcycles.com/en/video_mood.php things will be revealed step by step, on june 20th, 25th, july 1st and 3rd! there's a good interview here though: http://youtu.be/JsSVXfXHcN8
