Yes! Ride report please and compare it to an older YZ as a point of reference, I'd like to know how significant that changes are.

Loved my YZ's, went to a Beta 300RR last year - wished it had the suspension the Yammie has! Mine were all converted to off-road use much like the X is supposed to be. My 99 had the WR426 wide ratio transmission which to me seemed to really transform the bike (along with a FWW). Looking forward to your comments.

I expected at least an odometer let alone a headlight... like a proper enduro bike... that being said I'm glad Yammie is stepping up to the plate...

I thought the susp changes in the x were just clicker adjustments the factory has made otherwise identical to mxer?

Its not a WR its Yamahas version of the 250xc.... Erek Kudla Likes his but said its basically a yz250 from 06 with the usual offroad stuff.... said the hardware is not KTM/Husky good.... it needs some stuff but at least they are making it and its another option....

The Yami website says its got a different compression ratio, reeds and exhaust valve tuning than the mx bike.

So far I've put on an Acerbis tank, new plastic kit, TM skid plate, FMF turbine core II, bulletproof radiator guards and a motoseat pleated cover. I think I'm going to do galfier braided lines and an oversized rotor. The brakes are not quite what I'm used to with Brembo systems. Im planning on riding it once or twice before installing new springs.

So far I've only ripped down the road a few times to get jetting close. The power seems a lot broader compared to other motocross 250's. As I ride it more I'll keep posted.

Jimmy Lewis from Dirtbike Tested said the same thing. Said this motor configuration was even better then the yz250fx for mx or offroad.

If I was to do the big gas tank again I would go with an IMS. I've had good luck with Acerbis on KTM's, but this one has a funky double petcock system that makes me disconnect two hoses for tank removal. The petcock's are also of a lower quality than I would expect. The lever is plastic and turns really easy. When I get more time I intend to make a block off plate for the right side and use the OEM unit on the left.
