125-200cc New project Bike 02 cr 250

i'm not saying its not a good bike, just that Lamson couldn't go fast on it. any 250 or 360 should fit in that chassis.

I would prefer to do a WR if possible . I probably will do motor last like usual so that will give me some time to acquire what I need . I did call Ferracci yesterday and they said they did not have any records because they were shredded around 2005 and that's really all they could tell me.
The bike has a lot of wear on the sub frame and the chain has wore in to the swinger (repairable) pretty deep and the bottom engine mounts are a little oblonged and the cylinder needed to be re nikasiled . So I just assumed that some one was racing this bike which is ok with me , that's what
it was made for. I personally think that racers do more maintenance on their bikes than the kid down the street that can barely afford to mix the gas.

We know the bikes are good, lots of them still around and popular. I remember that Lamson interview/article and it sounded like the team was the problem, not just the bike. Was the end of an era for Husky/Cagiva/FBF and he got the leftovers

I also read that he broke /cracked 16 swing arms in a 17 race season. but that is SX and supercross is hard on bikes no matter what make.

I have a set of those 50 triples and FBF 50mm zokes (in pieces) if anyone is interested.

Fred Hoess rode an ex Lamson SX bike, in the '04 National Enduro Championship. FBF had narrowed the cases and done some serious frame mods. Lammy's outdoor MX bikes weren't like that.

Got this far tonight and robbed some parts off another frame that I need to get rid of.

It's a 04 sm frame if any one is interested.

if you would really like a wr, try to find a 90s transmission from a 250 or 360. it will be a true wide 6 speed. after that its all 5 speed

Up to what year did they make the WR 6 speed?

maybe someone else can chime in but i believe 02 in a 360, 99 or so in a 250? you will need the matching shift drum and forks as well.

Yet another tempting reason to get a 360

Many of forum guys have done the conversion from 5sp to 6sp using the Wr360 tranny...from 91 onwards 360's should fit in 2k+ cases and l think 92-98 WR250's as well.

This is where I got to so far, now to fix some areas on the frame and start getting some parts here and there.
