I was just kidding a little. My first e-start dirt bike is my 2015 KTM 350XCF. I'm 55 and had a few bikes over the years. I will say now that I have it I 'll make sure any other bike I get has it too. If I raced I wouldn't want the extra weight either. I had a 2010 GG 300 non e-start and sold it in part due to the weight. My son's 2011 TM 250 MX is a lightweight.

I really like the way the 12 TM250 runs and handles. Buddy had/trying to sell one. He is also going back to smaller bores. If you had to ride where and how we have to ride you would want e-start too. I don't care what level you ride at. Just too many times having to crawl up the side of the cliff to kick it with your left foot and then crawl back on while balancing on a 6"-8" wide trail. Having to hop through countless down falls in awkward positions and on severe slopes where you are starting and stopping often and kicking is a royal pain in the ass to accomplish. And all this with an extremely limited inseam. The best midget adapter made is that magic button. I on occasion ride with a couple of A/AA fast riders that have won numerous titles and they aren't caught dead without the button for riding locally. So I understand your position but it isn't a universal position.

Completely understood and should at least be and hoption on a modern bike. But all these guys with rekluse autos etc.. if you don't crash and can't stall your bike how often does a guy really need it????? 4-stroke would be mandatory for myself as I have and old 91 Dr 350 and I suck at finding top dead center etc.... that bike I wish had electric start!!

Hi Walt, it sounds to me like they just need to move the kicker back to the left side so it is more convenient for you !
