This looks interesting as well. No drilling of the plastics and have led and turn signal flashers with super easy mount on plate.

    Riding Again,

Not just laying around, its impatiently laying around.

The Engine I am freshening up is the original engine from my BMW G450X. It had just 112.5 hours when it was removed from the bike to transplant in a 2011 TC449 engine into it.

It was fun with the close ratio 5 spd. easily cracking wheelies in 4th and 5th gear with 14/48 gearing but I am going to look forward to having the fresh motor back in the bike with the wide ratio 5 spd. transmission.

The factory pistons top ring end gap at just 112 hours was nearly 3 times what the allowable specification calls for. However the bore is in great condition and has no measurable taper with my new dial bore gauge. If you could buy rings for the factory pistons I could have just ringed it and continued to run it with the factory piston but it was right in the middle of the clearance specs.

So a new ProX "A" piston is going in as soon as I get the Athena gasket set which has been on order since Dec 26.

So while I'm waiting for gaskets the head has been completely disassembled so I could bead blast it and sit down and become acquainted for some careful relaxing polishing of the combustion chamber, clean up the valve bowl area and a smooth mild port job. The factory titanium valves are still fine, I've checked the valves in the seats with a some Prussian blue, cleaned them up then hand lapped them with a touch of valve lapping compound. They are good to go. Just waiting for the valve seals that come with the gaskets. I'll be running the thicker of the 2 base gaskets to lower the compression for pump gas.

Meanwhile a new "later version" torque limiter was installed yesterday along with new water pump shaft seals and gaskets and today I swapped out the factory garbage flywheel bolts for some new M6 X 12 hardened 12.9 screws and some fresh Loctite.

It should run really good once its back in the bike. The Powercommander with the Autotune I run on this bike will get a chance to really up the game and should really breath some life through this head after I spent a few hours cleaning things up and polishing the ports with a couple of die grinders.

Went on a 3 hour ride Sunday near ocala national forest. It was a cut through some timber land and dirt country roads to a restuarant and then back. Roads were awesome the super deep sand was manageable as long as I did not stop. Going down hill with curves and deep sand was sketchy at times but never dropped the bike. I aired the back tire down to 10lbs and front tire at 13lbs. With the Fatty front tire and rear aired down it was pretty good. The 53 tooth rear sprocket just easily eats trails. Hard on and off road to keep it from just spinning and losing all traction of any type. The other day road in wet conditions after it rained twice that day and had to work the throttle as anything too ambitious and the rear wheel just started spinning 10mph to 65+mph.

I took my family and went to my uncles for this trip. I rode my TE511, my son rode his CRF110F but not on the ride as it was long and needed more skill then his 4th ride would have been. Wife and daughter rode in a Polaris 700 4 seater side by side. Uncle rode his Honda 400 4x4 4 wheeler, ant same, cousin rode his 300 4x4 4 wheeler as well.

Well I ordered it yesterday and Amazon said it has shipped from China and it will be here Febuaray 1st through 16th. So the suspense may take a while. lol I will post when it comes in. I just hope it will look unique rather than cheesy when it gets here. I will post pictures when it comes in.

So I have not received the rear tail light but pretty much have come to the conclusion it is not going to work the way the tail section has been cut. The tag is almost on the brake light no room for this. So I will be sending it back. On another note the tag is so close to the running and brake light it may not matter and I might just install the original led smoked black blinkers and be done with it.

I got a chance over the weekend to change the rear 53 tooth to the factory 51 tooth sprocket and it does 55 mph so much better. I really wanted to try the 48 tooth sprocket I have for urban travel. Although it will require a seperate chain it the current chain for the 53 is just short enough to ride on the 51 tooth sprocket for a little bit. It is not as tight of a chain as it needs to be for the 51. I did get a chance to grease the axle though! I wonder if I can get a chain that just fits the 51 and 48 tooth sprocket?

    Pictures!

this ain't rocket surgery... lights, sigs, and plates been done a million times. and btw- usually you can't return stuff to china because it's cost-prohibitive (IOW, it cost more to ship then it cost to buy).

Ours we ran in dirt and SM trim. Stock sprocket and chain for dirt and 42 tooth and new chain for SM. The stock chain is ok but a good quality after market one will surprise you in difference in quality. I used a cut off wheel for rear black fender plate holder and mounted the plate about a quarter inch down from tail light. Never did put blinkers on rear, used an after market kit that mounted to bike then mounted plate to that looked very clean. If I remember correctly the chain should only have about 5 millimeters of movement which seems very tight but is called for on these bikes.

Yeah I will have to get a new chain to run the 48 tooth sprocket. Rode about 40 miles today on the stock and it rides smoothly at 55 mph. Almost good for the street use I need. One section of road to work is 65mph so the 48 tooth may work well. I ride the bike to work then after if it is a short day on Friday I will go discover some new roads on the way home or get lost for a couple hours.

Well I finally got some time to install the RPM sensor for the Trailtech Voyager and my rear LED signals. My Trailtech now shows a sweeping and digital read out of rpm. I got confused for a few minutes as I was looking for the red/Black wire to the coil and was looking at the power commander plug wires. lol Then I realized to look at the other plug and every thing went smoothly. I think the led rear signals turned out good. Here is some pictures and reference.
