Awesome. My '01 was my alltime-favorite bike. Fast motors on top, keep pulling. Had no problem getting good starts/holeshots against 450's (and 426's! Long time ago....). Great project. Mint it out, then ship it to me for some MX cross-testing!:busted:

I was not sure what I was going to do with this bike. First ride say KEEP IT. So not I need to go slowly and not overspend. Yes, it will be the perfect 250 to reside with my 165. Can swap wheels, tank and stuff between them as needed. Right now I am just going to slap some old 04 plastic on it to make it look OK and slowly mod what needs modded. Should be fun. It is a surprisingly good start. I see now why Bill (from Bills) always raved about the 02 CR250, it's quite a platform.

Funny, I was watching it too but the price was silly as you said. Glad you got him to find reality. Should be a fun bike.

    Sort the motor.
    Sort the suspension.
    Add handguards.
Leave cosmetics. Everyone writes off the guy on the mullet mulisha bikes....

Motor need zero sorting, one of the best motors i have ever sampled. Gobs of power everywhere. Lug it like a 300 and grunt everywhere or light it up, like both. Rode in deep fresh mud and it was a torque monster. Suspension for sure needs love. Going to change the plastic, hate that look and the Mulisha / road warrior comments plus have good plastic here for free off my 04.

Worked on him for months, he did not seem to care. Then called me begging me to buy it as he needed some rock crawler transmission. Right place at the right time and persistence can pay off. Always wanted a 02 CR250, now I know why? Guess Bills raving about them rubbed off on me too. Bike is in pretty good shape other than looks ugly. That motor

May not matter to you, but my 02 would only get about 50 miles from a tank ... The larger(I think) tanks from some of WRs might fit on the bike but you might also need to change the seat also. The later model WRs tanks will accept some of the newer tank shrouds.

While working on the bike I have noticed a few unusual things. First it has a reed spacer block (usually for lot end boost i think) and a V-Force 3 reed block which I dont think came on these or was even available in 02.

Also notice someone welded a frame cross bar right above the rear of the carb where the airbox boot meets it. Very odd. Not even sure why you would gusset it there. need to pull the tank and see if any other frame mods were done. Stating to wonder the history of this bike. Was bought at L&D in Astoria Oregon. Never titled, I have the MSO.

The Oregon title for my '06 WR125 says "CAGI" for the manufacturer. Does not say Husqvarna anywhere. WA is refusing to change it to read Husqvarna, my WA title is going to show either CAGI or CAGIVA. I tried to explain to them, but they don't care. I don't really care either, but I just don't want to deal with any boneheads giving me grief about it I ever sell it.

I've really been considering removing all the Husky logos on mine and having CAGIVA graphics made for it.
