Just got my first look at the new Beta today at MOTOXOTICA and man it is a winner.Quality parts well thought out Estart low seat heightnice ergo's people are gonna buy the shit out of them.Only bad thing was the 7999.00 price tag.Oh and it was at least 10 to 13 pounds lighter than my wr250.Also looks to have an adjustable power valve.

The only real negative to that bike for us is the itty bitty tank they have mounted. I wonder if there is an oversized option?

I wouldn't care if they kept making the current 250/300 for those that like it but......I wouldn't get an old new Husky 250/300. I also think if they made the old (current 250/300) and a new version of 200/250/300 on the new frame with better suspension, lighter weight, adjustable PV, better carb, option e-start, etc....they would sell a lot more of the NEW. I know the current old bike can work but to be competitive and not lose sales and customers they need to step it up IMHO. I sure hope they do.

Maybe it felt like that because it had a lower seat height. It has a built in grab handle like the husky so I gave it a lift like I was going to put it on a stand and it was noticeably lighter. So maybe the lower c.o.g. makes it feel lighter and no since I don't own one and they are just being released this year as a first year model I have not ran them over a set of scales.

yeah the wr can use some modernizing and the fact that it is so tall makes it feel heavier when picking up the rear buts it only 230 lbs (no gas ) the advertised weight of the Beta is 223 dry but is closer to 233 with no gas, lowering the seat height 1 to 2 inchs would make a vast improvement on the husky but seems to me they are pushing the 4 strokes

I'm glad the WR250 has a tall seat height, I put a tall guts seat foam and cover on mine to make it taller. Tall seat height was one of the main reasons I bought a Husky.

Could you cut a couple of inches off your legs and send them to me? I am so sick of constantly looking for midget adapters to park near.
