Mostly weekend rides revisiting the Canadian Rocky's and some of the larger rivers and lakes we have in the interior of BC. Come summer Banff Jasper Revelstoke are all day trips. I'm not into hwy rides much...mostly back road stuff.
Hey guys, my plan to Terra650 at the end ofSeptember , is the tour of Sardinia Italy. about 10 days.. somebody interested.. I have done CORSE TOUR by BMW F650. 10 days. AMAZING ISLAND . i hope terra would let me 50% off road in Sardinia..
We host the Banff Film Festival tour each year. Based on the pictures I have seen it is high on my list of places to take my TR650 some day. Please post pics of your adventures, it sounds like you have a great summer planned.
I love skyline and 84 La Honda home of Randy Mamola. Something about riding thru redwoods it even smells right!
The shop where I purchased my Strada have what they call an adventure ride every third Sunday of the month. They are rated at different levels so a new rider wouldn't be getting in over his head. Usually rides are 60/40 split between dirt and street. I haven't been on one yet as I just got my bike two weeks ago but am looking forward to it. I will miss the ride May 19th for a planned fishing trip but look forward to my first ride. Cycle specilaties out of Modesto Ca is my local shop.
If anyone wants to stop by my place in Napa CA, let me know. Epic dual sport area. Just in case you've not seen it, there is a gathering in a couple of weeks here: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/we...-may-16th-through-sunday-may-19th-2013.32037/
The BRP is a perfect road for a bike like the Terra. It will eat up all the bends and round up sportsbikes on the tighter stuff.
I'm picking my Terra up this morning from Big D's in Woodland Park, CO. I'm so excited about finally swinging a leg over it I can't see straight. Plan to tally up a few hundred miles this weekend just getting to know her. Tick, tick, tick, just waiting for 8am for the doors to open.
Possibly this fall I'm planning to go round my country... It's so beautiful - woods, mountains, lakes, sea, gravel, patchy pavement, small old churches of all beliefs, horses... Just a glimpse for you - a film and photos made by fellow ADV Rider around here. photos can be clicked to open fast-clicking gallery http://p6x6.blogspot.com/2012/09/to-jest-polska-wasnie.html
Commuting for now with my Strada. Definitely going to be buying a set of spokes for off-road excursions and 2014 my friend and I are planning the Utah Back-country Discovery Route (UTBDR). Did the WABDR on an XR650R and tried the Oregon version on a V-Strom, but the cast wheels were DEFINITELY not up to the challenge. Friend just ordered a F800GS and that will be a fine bike for him, but I'm going to enjoy blowing his doors off with the Husky.
Logged 1000+ miles in two days on a ride to Connecticut. Had a few mechanical issues ( overheating, spraying fuel due to a crimped vent line--not good for the instrument cluster plastic, and then no starting/dying at idle), but got here. Called two dealers here to look at the bike and neither one would even see me. One claimed they didn't know how to use their MOSS tool, the other said they were "too overwhelmed with other jobs". Both said parts were unavailable for at least a week, maybe more. Fortunately, I pulled the starter and knocked it around a bit and got it working again, and did a "10 minute tune up" which cleared up the dying at idle. Planning to ride home in a few days... Wish me luck
Bike did 600+ miles today with no major issues. It stalled two or three times, but was a champ otherwise. Hopefully the guys at Eurosport can sort things out when I get home.
