As I have seen an incredible Terra650photos, I hope to repeat the same trip we did with NX650..in terra650
The perfect bike yes, but the only way for it to replace the KLR is to stay in production and sadly we all know that's very, very unlikely (well with this engine anyway).
I don't think I ever properly answered the original question: "Now that you bought the TR650 - where ya gonna go?" Anywhere I damn well please.
I'm leaving for Idaho tonight. My Dad, Brother, and I will be riding 90% off pavement for 11 days through all the good stuff in Idaho and Montana - well, the stuff that's not on fire! We'll be camping every night and fly fishing a different river every day. This is exactly what the Terra is made for. Can't wait! I'll post pics and a report when I return.
Camping on cliff overlooking Columbia River last night. Last throes of light, scotch was tasty after an MRE, planes working the huge fire in the distance, and breeze felt good.
Beautiful view to fall asleep to and that strada just looks too sexy with that terra front fender. I might have to get that fender myself, how much did you pay for it?
I think it was about $65 delivered for the fender, fork protector, and fasteners. Billy's in Salem, OR arranged it all.
Enjoy your trip. Montana and Idaho has some great areas to ride and the terra is the perfect bike for it. Currently in Reno, for some relaxation, after finishing our CD trail ride. I'll also post a report with some pictures when I finish the long trip back to Seattle.
Panorama from Chelan Butte. Headed to Chelan, parking the bike, jumping in the lake, then getting my swerve on with gin and tonics.
Short trip up Britannia Mines the other week. Bike handled well, some rough roads and 30c weather. Found some ripe Salmon berries we were surprised the bears never got at. As well as a nice water fall/pool combo which was a lot colder then it looked.
First ride on the terra today. Went from Colorado Springs to Lubbock Texas. Good thing I got a twin bed...
Yea it already has me worried. I still have the factory paper plate on so I'm hoping the weight saving there will keep it from stressing. The problem is that the temp paper plate is already expired and if it is expired and flapping g in the wind I think I will get pulled over more.. I going to pull it and get a solution when I get back
Second weekend in a row camping. This time was semi-urban camping with the masses at an improved site on the Tucannon River. I've been to the area via FJR, car, and snowmobile in bits and pieces over the decades, but really enjoyed an entire day exploring various NF- roads, nooks, crannies, and this marker. It's a nice area for dual sports including various "grades" that are euphemisms for marginal gravel roads that you probably shouldn't take your family minivan on, but are a lot of fun on a TR650. The Kendall Skyline Road is the backbone to this area and has a bit of history.
