I received a call back from Christopher at KTM in Quebec. He says he's never heard of the issue but given that we're starting to get replies back I think our voices are being heard. Willing to wager they'll never outright confirm there's a problem but something is working...
So, the Service Manager at Motoforza (San Diego, CAL), which diagnosed and repaired my Strada, said they just received the KTM diagnostic tool that interfaces with the TR-650s. He said the mechanic actually used it on my bike to locate the "check engine light" fault, which led them to the bad crankcase position sensor. The Service Mgr. said that KTM is distributing the diagnostic tool to any Husky dealer that wants to "rent" the device and that it has NOTHING to do with the MOSS tool. He said the MOSS tool is useless now at their dealership (Husky/Ducati/MV). Update: 17July15- My bike ran perfect for awhile, but now it is back to stumbling/or stalling at slow speeds just after warm-up. Also, after paying the dealer for the service, the wrench indicator was not even turned off. My bad for not checking it before I rode 20 miles away from the dealer. Disappointed that the bike does not run well after a couple hundred miles. My Strada's engine is stock and has over 13,000 miles on it.
Just got off the phone with KTM in Quebec (Canada.) Again, they're not directly admitting there's a problem but it seems like they know they've got work to do. I'm out of warranty but I must have caused enough stink to get them to act (Posted up on KTM's FB page, recommend you do the same if you're stranded like me) but I'll have to take the bike out of commission for a while... They're willing to re-flash the ECU with the newest KTM hardware/software. However, in order to do it, I'll need to take out my dash, ECU, ignition barrel and send them with a key to Quebec. From there they'll mail to whatever HQ they have in California to do the work and then send it back up here. Christopher, the rep on the phone, estimated it would take two weeks. I figure a month is a safer bet... My only vehicle and, as I'm out of warranty, they're not offering much else. I'll do it but now I need to find a time where I can go without wheels for a while.
Nick780, I'm not sure we are talking to the same person in Quebec but I spoke with someone there today. He called me back and wondered where we got our info and I told to go look at cafe husky. I'm hoping to ride up and have the work done, I don't want to take things apart and have it mailed to California. The least they could do is give you a loaner.
Was definitely hoping for a loaner but no luck But the guy I was talking to (name was Christopher) said that my ECU and all would have to go to California for service, sounds like they don't have the equipment there. Best check with them before making the trek up.
I've been trying my options locally as I really don't want to gut the bike and ship the parts away. Just received this reply from International Motorsports, outside of Vancouver, BC: "THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM IS SEND THE PARTS TO KTM IN CALIFORNIA, THEY WILL SET UPON A BIKE AND TEST USING THIER DIAGNOSTIC TOOL. THERE ARE LESS THAN 10 OF THOSE DAIG COMPUTERS IN N AMERICA AND THE GUYS WHO STILL HAVE THEM DONT KNOW HOW TO USE THEM." Not the best news but it's looking like I know what my only option is.

As expected, 3 weeks have gone by since mailing my ECU, dash, ignition barrel and keys to KTM in California (via KTM Quebec) and I'm still waiting. KTM Canada is almost impossible to get on the phone, I've gotten through to a person instead of a voice message only once. I don't like doing it but I'm going to turn up the squeak until I get the grease. In the meantime I've picked up some Pulstar plugs bases on some positive feedback on here but I'll be skeptical until I try them. Plan is to do the TPS reset and run the system stock once the bike's brains make it back, get a feel of what's changed. After that I'll drop in the Pulstars and see if they produce a noticeable difference. If all else fails I'll drop the EJK back in but I'd rather not if I don't have to...
Dont forget to clean the Idle Actuator as best you can, it helped mine, it was back firing a lot and it was all black and sooty.
