Too bad Progressive does not make shocks for TR650. They are very good performing shocks for heavy people at very competitive prices (there are some good things about owning Jap bikes :-) Hyperpro and other generic shocks are much more cost and not as heavy duty, which would be essential for offroading I would think. BMW shock vendors would be your best bet I'd think though, and Racetech IS all over the ChainGang site. So I'd follow enginerK9's connection with Racetech to see what he makes happen. I would be curious for my BMW 650 Strada too, as long as it is not $1,000+, lol.
A good rebuildable/adjustable shock such as the Racetech is going to cost some $s. although about half of the Olins (which would need a revalve to suit your personal needs) Icons in Australia are cheap, with poor spring life You get what you pay for Ricky I had such a poor experience with Trooper Lu I'd not go near him
Maybe they just didnt like you I really found Terry super negative and pretty condescending even on the phone (which I find pretty normal in Sydney "specialists" in most things) Now you would have to be an idiot to trust someone to do a great job for you with a start like that. Also as I felt chances of "first time right"were a bit low Im buggered if I want to go way the hell out to Penrith to get even more grief if it wasnt that great. Thats why I went local where they were enthusiastic about taking on a mongrel project like this one. Happy to pay for a great shock to balance out my awesum 250mm travel front end but it wont be till next year
I paid upfront for my unrestricted TR, was eventually delivered nearly a month late, as a restricted bike, then given the "bring it in - only takes a couple of minutes to bend the throttle stop out of the way!" no mention of firmware updates etc - so much for Trooper Lu - Terry Hay, I've worked with him since he started in the late 1990's, a genuine Gentleman who does know his stuff, I suggest you visit his factory one day - there are a number of big name International racers & race companies who use his expertise I guess we all have our favourite motorcycle shops
absolutely! my fav is Moto GC in Melbourne where i bought my 2 huskies. Im headed back there eventually and yes I keep my VIC rego
