Took the Italian mistress out for lunch. Fall is great, the air is crisp and cool, visibility is fantastic, some interesting color. Every year there is a point somewhere where I smell several fireplaces burning in a row, and an internal alarm goes off that says the 'fantastic' riding days are numbered. Hit that point yesterday, lots of fireplace activity, high was low 60s. The rain is coming soon to the great NorthWet.
Still have it, but it's for sale. Added the Terra a few months ago. My theory was it was cheaper to just buy the Terra rather than to Terrafy the Strada. The Strada has not sold as quickly as I'd hoped. it will likely be with me 'til spring. I put the Terra up for sale, testing the theory that it might be the Strada that was not moving, but didn't get any interest in either. Fortunately with some rearranging I can get all the bikes and Mrs. krussell's car in the garage.
Nice day yesterday thought id finally go for a ride up my local peak, Mt Wellington 42°53′57″S 147°13′57″E. 1,271 metres (4,170 ft) high. Not too bad a ride apart from the slow driving tourists.
Went out to Nellis Dunes today. Had a blast really seeing what the bike and the stock tires can do. Momentum certainly is my friend!
LOL!! Where do you think NASA takes its pictures? There is lots of area like this where there random rocks everywhere. There is also a good gravel wash that will constantly try to kill you. From there it does go into some decent dunes. Added plus it is 15minutes from my house on the bike.
Chasing the sunset. After work ride up in the Sierras. It's a joy having such nice places to ride within 20 minutes from my work and home. A couple miles West of Northern Nevada into California. This is at about 6300ft elevation (1920m).
Headed North this time into an area known as the Sand Hills There is a spring feed creek that runs through this area.
Some of these shots have a real resemblance to parts of the Australian outback, except that the sand would be more red than white.
Yup, many times when I see pics posted from the outback I think they look a lot like here too. The sand near the gulf is real white, the further north I go the more red it becomes. Near the springs its real white too.
I think the nearer the coast in Aus the sand is whiter, and more red towards the interior. Lime sand is usually more yellow. I could picture any of those shots being in Aus, though not sure about the spring fed creek. Creeks in Tasmania are mostly tea coloured from the bush tannins, no idea whether there are any that are that clear fed from springs
