Hey, that was very likely me. 6'4', 280, Red Aerostich / Silver helmet? I've got a Strada with a Terra front fender. Was headed down Barrows, turned right into Progress Ridge by Fuddruckers. Back through the parking lot and out, as going back to check out a sign I saw at the last light.

Been working like crazy, not much riding, finally spent some time on the Strada this past weekend. Poked around Browns Camp and did some of the first off road riding I've done in 35 yrs. Nothing serious, all the trails were rated easiest. Bike did fine, wished for knobbies in a couple of spots. Fan comes on quick when you ride as slow as I do. Took a couple of shots at an overlook before I did any trails.

Nice. I'm always interested in seeing new and novel approaches to the the task of chain lubrication.

Unfortunately that's not me - I do not even have Terra and most probably I would not be able to keep up even on my 630. Just thought you guys here may enjoy the video.

I was curious if you had already ridden from South Africa to Slovakia on a TR650 :D

Well, I have actually ridden from Slovakia to South Africa, but on GSA1150. But if I ever go back (not likely), it would definitely be on a single cylinder bike and TR would be high on the list - the main worry being high octane petrol required.

Last week a group of us spent a few days riding around the Junction TX area. Most miles, by far, were on pavement, and I put at least 1700 miles in over 5 days, including a lot of high speed interstate highway. Here we are at an overlook at the Pecos River high bridge near Langtry.

Absolutely. I've done a similar distance this week, but work for me right now dictates it took two days, and one with a bit of dark. The views have been great, zero haze. Feels like you can reach out and grab the peaks.

Nice shot at the overlook. Seems like its a 1 in 4 shot for me where I get it without a cloud cap. Your shot is a good one. I love the ride up, and the variety across the weather and the seasons.

My shot today of Mt. St. Helens from the McClellan view point.

Caught a break at work and got an early start on the weekend. 250 miles, fantastic day. A bit of freeway, Lots of curvy secondary roads, and some forest roads. All pavement. Bike is running really well. I've seen a big improvement in my fuel mileage. I went from 48MPG to high 50s the last two tanks. Today was 58.2 mpg by the pump/odometer, best ever for me. This bike is great for exploring.

NF-25, closed to to snow further up.

Went down 93 a bit, and then 9310. Snow stopped every road, lack of traffic was really great.

Spring roads in the PNW. You never know what's around the next corner.

Right after leaving the view point and heading south I had the opportunity to discuss the posted speed limit with a Forest Service ranger. I wasn't paying attention, and the speed limit ranges from 30-55 depending on where you are etc. He had me at 60 in a 40. Ran my license, told me to slow down, and let me know that I would have been ticketed at 61 without question, and that he was letting me go knowing I'd slow down. He said ticket would have been $275. Lesson learned, I was super diligent the rest of the way home.

Krussell, did you happen to remember what elevation you found snow? I'm going on a "snow patrol" tomorrow around the western part of Mt Rainier. I'll post pics and report where the snows at up here. Cheers,

2720 ft on FS 93 a few miles east of FS 25. (From the GPS track log, my memory is no where near that good.) About the same height on Curly Creek Road south of the McClellan view point but they plow that so it's very deceiving.

Today west of Albuquerque in the Rio Puerco basin, near Cabezon Peak. The adobe building is remnants of Guadalupe which according to legend had a bar/brothel/etc back in the day. Perfect weather, just dry and dusty.

    Rich in PLacitas
