Hey BMWeazal, Here you go; ORDER ITEMS: PROD# CLM03Q 1 ASV Pro Model Clutch Lever, w/ Quic Red Shorty ( 1" Shorter than your stock lever) BLH03 1 ASV Front Brake Lever (KTM/Brembo 1 Red Yes - Part #FBDC01 (Dust cover) There's a thread on it somewhere, but they just went straight on, no probs. Cheers,
Hey SepticSkeptic, Paul at Highway Dirt Bikes tapped the bar (which I purchased from him at a very reasonable price) for me as part of his awesome customer service. Arrived at my door ready to start bolting on. Try the part numbers as in the above post mate; CLM03Q 1 ASV Pro Model Clutch Lever, w/ Quic Red Shorty ( 1" Shorter than your stock lever) BLH03 1 ASV Front Brake Lever (KTM/Brembo 1 Red Yes - Part #FBDC01 (Dust cover) These levers feel so much better than the stock levers, and look great too. The HDB handguards are made really well, and are strong as all heck. I seriously reckon I could hang the bike up from a hoist by the handguards........ might even do it for a giggle. Hey Skeptic Regarding the HDB setup; Taping the handlebar cannot be consider an ordeal The tap itself is supplied in the kit And the tapping process is only a matter of snipping the ends of the grips and then using a wrench and some WD40 you just twist it in, going in and out in small increments, cleaning the metal shaving as you go Very easy, takes 5 or ten minutes More pics --> here <--
How do you guys find these bikes on a track? I am sure you'll get blown away on the straights by sportbikes and larger motards (KTMs?)... but as a track toy and not worrying about top speed, how do they perform?
Did a video of my last track day- wasn't really feeling it and I really need some more work, but I had a guy willing to video me, so I used it as feedback. Other than twisting harder, any tips? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_uCfX1BvEY&feature=channel_page
No tips from me, since you are probably an order of magnitude faster already anyway. But, I gotta say it sure looks like fun.
Aww, brings back good memories (the WR, not your wife - I'm sure she's delightful but I don't believe we've ever met). I had a WR before the Husky. Pretty good off road for a DS bike I thought. Better on road than the Husky, but no match for it on the dirt of course. Sigh, nostalgia ain't what it used to be.
I bought the first year WR250f when they came out in `01. Got it plated right away with no issues whatsoever (ahh...talk about nostalgia...) and rode the wheels off it for a few years. It was a decent dualsport, but I was afraid I was going to cook the motor on the street so I got a 450 EXC. I ended up selling the WR in order to make room for my 610 WoodsChick
That's another thing I liked about the WR250R - not quite as good as the F on the dirt and a bit heavy, but the engine's effectively one quarter of an R1 motor so it will run happily all day at high speed on tarmac and the maintenance intervals are huuuuuge - just put gas in and go ride it! Oh happy days... :ride:
I found this tonight in my garage... anyone know what it is? I really don't feel that much of a difference. Some more power in the midrange, but the top end still feels a bit weak.
I've had my SM610 for 4 weeks now and finally got around to taking some pics. Mods so far include Turbo City "Borrego" rack, Uptite billet oil cap, bar pad, and removed smog can.
Looks like an oxygen sensor (fits in the exhaust) and some resistors (the pic's a bit small to be sure).
