Hey! Auburn Hills. I'm sure YOU have LOTS more. I heard the more Up North you go, the more snow. The furthest we've gotten this year is over near Frankfort. LOTS OVER THERE But I will say, we've definitely had our share of it this year. And the bitter cold has been tough. I don't mind the snow, but that single digit temp for more than a week at a time gets old!! We keep the woodburner burning!!! Keep in touch!!! Stace
Wherabout are you riding in that pic? I've ridden at Carnegie, Del Puerto Canyon, Coulterville(Dogtown), La Grange. If I remember correctly, Dogtown is the only place that I ever encountered snow (upper elevation of course) That can definitely be some hard riding!!!
It was 75 and rocky where I was on Sunday. Luckily I am not wrestling a 610 in the rocks, cuz I'm too short for that.
Will send worm weather in exchange for terrain....elevation is a must..... Hell, I'll even throw in some nice, bikini clad lady's from the beach.... Deal??????
If your talking to me, I don't know how much elevation I can give you, but the terrain is for sure a go!! Throw in the latter part, and I'll take you to Cedar Point in Ohio and we'll ride Top Thrill Dragster and Millinium Force!! 300 & 400 ft high rollercoasters!! There's some elevation !!
Those photos were taken near Kingston Canyon in Nevada. We ran into lots of snow but that was the only time I fell off. I was on Pirelli MT60's. Here's a few more taken while on knobbies, check out the snow on the wheels and tires... This was a looong downhill and it was almost impossible to stop on the crunchy icy snow. All 3 of us were skiing down it. My buddy Steve is on the TE... I really like these photos of Steve and his new TE610 in Nevada... Hey, who owns that sexy bike in the background? WoodsChick
Those are very cool pics! It's amazing how Nevada has so many different types of territories. Desert where you guys actually were, with snow in mountains behind you. Absolutely amazing!!! Thanks for sharing!!! Stace
Since I am building my 610 and have not riden it yet here are two of my favorite bikes. The first is our family 1971 sl70 frame # 441 (thats a cool #), I put it back together this summer and set it up like a pit bike and what I wanted when I was 12 again. (Joel Robert replica) I have all the original parts and use it to cruise the property. The pursang was rebuild to 74 specs (it a 75, I had one new in 75). Jim Pomeroy and Hugh Weaver delivered this bike to me at Thunder Ridge in New York and I attended a one day vintage mx class with Jim. This was one of my best days riding ever. It was up to 34 today and about 8 weeks I expect to start riding.
I've tried unsuccessfully for 3 days now trying to post a pic of a bike I owned year's ago.:smashpc It's a scanned pic!) It resembles your yellow SL70 a lot. I still have the bike but, it's 3000 miles away at my dad's in Ca. It's in parts due to a failed restoration 25 years ago. But I do want to bring it back this year and get it running again. I never knew what model of Honda it was. But now I think I know!
