So, true to form of a never ending list of bullshit problems with this conversion, repairing the broken pinch bolt wound up involving leaking fork fluid, JB weld and drilling and tapping out for M8 bolts instead of M6. Oh, and a couple cracks in the exhaust header that needed fixing. I got those dealt with, though.

Did 150 mile ride on some great local roads yesterday (Calaveras, Mines, Del Puerto, Mt. Hamilton for those curious) and apparently I was breaking the sound barrier or something (although the speedo never said I went over 70) because the wind shear ripped off a turn signal and the speedo cable came unscrewed from the console and was flopping around on the road. I removed it from the drive gear in the hub and put it in the tail bag. When we left The Junction, a sheriff pulled out after me. So I have no idea how fast I'm going and the turn signal I'd use to signal I'm pulling over, like to fake interest in taking a photo or something, is missing. Bugger followed me for about 8 miles, too.

So more minor fixes that will take a few weeks to deal with. BTW, there's not really room for flush mounts, does anyone have a suggestion for low profile, very flexible turn signals? Bulb type preferred so I don't have to mess with the relay.

I'm a nerd, you gimme numbers, I process them. Although I was wondering why it wouldn't be bulging on the rim....

    Back to the nerd stuff...

A 150/70 is just as wide as a 150/60, but is 15mm taller at the rim. Ground to top of tire... 1.2" taller. It'll make a minor different with a little more top speed (@4.5mph). Almost 4" more circumference.

Did you have to beef up the voltage to run HID? I have TrailTech X2 Halogen and it's not quite bright enough for night riding.

did you have the exhaust guard powdercoated or is it a DIY job? certainly looks alot better than stock.

A fellow 610 owner here in Colorado hooked me up. He did it as his shop when he had some downtime. It's still holding up pretty well, but is wearing a bit from contact.

Toddler was there, he's on the far right in the pic. I believe you know him at least through this board. We did Black Bear, lunch in Telluride, Imogene, Yankee Boy Basin on Saturday. Sunday we did Corkscrew, Hurricane, California, a side trip to Placer Gulch, Cinnamon Pass into Lake City and back to Ouray via Engineer. I gotta say, it was a weekend full of incredible scenery and a great bunch of guys to ride along and share in the magnificence that is the San Juans.

I know Toddler! Unpronounceable Todd :) That guy's a character. We rode with him in Utah 7 years ago. Cool dude! I'd love to ride with him again. We're thinking about doing a 3-week ride next summer to celebrate our 20th anniversary and we want to include Colorado. Maybe y'all can share some local knowledge and ride with us on a few rides?
