All too true! But I once had a Suzuki and was stuck for parts. Have had practically no problems with my old CCM as the parts come from all over the place. Think it´ll turn out the Husqvarna brought in parts from all over the place that are in use in a number of other bikes as well. I usually keep my bikes and I can´t see any other manufacturer coming up with a replacement in the near future.
Yeah... Yeah....maybe that's it...Overall I like it, but would love to plasti dip my wheels and some other parts like some others have done. Then I agree it would stand out and look better.
Big group up to Pozo about a month ago. Did that one with the road bike. This is Oriflame Canyon near Anza Borrego. The little Kawi turned around and went back to the hiway for a go-around.
Why do some of the TE's in this thread still have the stock, un-folding mirrors? I have a brand new pair of stock mirrors off my 630, if someone want to buy them as replacements.
If I broke one I'd go the folding route. I don't crash any more...I'm too old for that BS. Funny, thousands of miles on bikes, have never broken a mirror. Knock - knock.
As they say...if it ain't broke then it don't need fixing. Stock mirrors for me have good optics, good sized, don't vibrate too bad and have held up after more than a few crashes already. Best of all they are cheap, only $11 each from Husky. Shoot me a PM with price for the set including shipping to zip 77338. _
Packed up and ready to ride to Big Bend last week. Tent, sleeping bag, tools, spares, food and clothes for 4-5 days. Everything I needed except water. Probably only 10 lbs on the subframe, bulk of weight using rear passenger position. Only problem was my new still too tall sidestand was unuseable to mount the bike after adding the extra weight. So off came all camping gear, food and limited my clothes to what would fit in a small backpack, tankbag for gear and tail bag for tools/spares. This photo shows how I rode the 1,220 miles roundtrip to Big Bend minus rider and backpack. _
Back from Big Bend, riding with SilverBullet and others. I'm coming up King Kong Hill here, mirrors folded. I was here two years ago and it was a lot tougher. A rock ledge and some large rocks had been ground down since then. No problem now!
Looks like some terrific riding territory - our US members are spoilt with great riding areas. I visited the Vegas, Page, Zion, Death Valley, Mammoth, Yosemite etc areas about 12 years ago & loved the variety of the country. In the heat of Death Valley in the morning and the snow of Mammoth & Sonora Pass a few hours after. Must get back the some time but 3 young kids is a bit of a handbrake at the moment unfortunately. I like the Husky stickers on the Safari Tank. Breaks the white up nicely and matches in well with the rest of the bike. Good, simple solution.
I think the stickers look pretty good too. I didn't expect them to last even one ride since all I hear is how they fall off of plastic tanks. But, they are still there and well adhered. We'll see how long they last. At 5 bucks, what is there to loose. Here's a pic from the side.
Yep! Ebay, and they are around 5" square. You can get them in just about any color too. When I put them on it didn't seem like they adhered very well and could be lifted easily, but after being on a bit, they are on there really well.
Plus the TE630 with double the WR250R's horsepower probably helped some. And then a couple hours after that you can be sitting on the beach drinking a cold one watching the sun set. _
Yes indeed, after Yosemite we went to San Fran for a few days, then down to LA via Monteray, Carmel, San Simeon etc. As a said, great variety within a relatively small geographic area and a stark contrast between the natural wonders and the cities. We really enjoyed the States, although I wasn't a big fan of Vegas - all the casinos look alike in no time, but it was an interesting place to visit nevertheless.
Since we've got quite some posts now, making this thread into a sticky might be a good idea. The 610 pics thread is a sticky as well
