That is too funny! I was scrolling down thorugh this thread and saw this pic thinking, " this looks familiar, just like my trip to BC" Great pic Dave! KD
Another shot of my Husky on the Forever West route which was completed last week. I'm continually trying to cut the load for these trips, but camping gear just takes up a lot of space! 'Don't want to promote another site, but the reasonably brief trip report is at http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=829486
Back from CO/UT, I got a bunch... Cement Creek Rd. American Flag Mountain Clear Lake Mineral Bottoms Rd Hardscrabble campsite on White Rim Trail Potash Rd. White Rim Trail Gemini Bridges Rd
Yeah, It rained that morning and the stretch of deep sand on the WRT was sand w/ 6" of water/mud on top resulting in a step-off at one point...
Couple of photos from last weekend in Chequamegon National Forest, WI. Colors are starting to peak in this area of the nation.. Rode this trail for 3 or so miles.. was nice while it lasted and hadn't been used at all
I always assume people have their bikes set up for sand when I see them riding on it. Guess not. You are clearly very good, I would make about six feet of forward progress in that before I crashed.
Wow! Cool shot. I have never seen a photo of the bike with the suspension under full compression. I would hope I could make it more than 6 feet, but I fear not.
What has helped me in sand more than anything else is practice, practice, practice! It's still unnerving for me, but not so bad once you learn to trust the bike and just let it wallow around under you.
Practice and speed! You need speed! Forward motion will help keep it steady and the more forward motion the better.
That was the first time I have had this bike off-road. I have been running the 17" wheels on it, and it has been a great mountain-roads blaster, but it surprised me how capable it is in the soft sand.
That is a great pic. You should submit it to advrider...I'm sure they'd add it to the photo line up of their main/home page.
hi there did a 600k ride yesterday in northern n.s.w this bike ticks all the boxes & its not the tenere!only mod to do is the power up now
