He made me feel extremely bad about the price I paid for my SMS 630. Now I don't feel as bad since you're confirming that he got an amazing deal.
Mine was $6K out the door brand new, give or take a couple hundred. One at another local dealer with about 1500mi, bone stock, was for sale for $7500 for a while, think it's down around $6200 now.
Now I feel kind of bad again, god damn it!! I paid $5700 for mine, one previous owner, pretty much completely stock except for the PU kit and a set of almost brand new Contiforce tires. Vehicles always seem to be more expensive where I live though. For instance, for a really nice car here I would pay lets say... $30,000, but if I go a couple provinces over, I can find the same car for $5,000 to $10,000 less. I'm not sure why it is the way it is, but I hate it.
Ouch.. I didn't count the money I paid to register it and also the money I paid for taxes while registering it. I paid $505 at the Registry of Motor Vehicles. And I know I'll be getting a letter in the mail saying that I need to pay a little more on taxes, so might as well just tack on another $200-$300. So, as of right now I've paid $6205. That doesn't sound so bad, too bad I couldn't stop ordering parts for it to upgrade performance as well as looks, lol. Ah well, new hobbies are always pricey; well they are when they're this much fun anyway I wouldn't change a thing!
Alright, I can't wait any longer. I don't have everything done that I want to yet, but I need to get in on these pictures and get some posted. So without further delay, here are some pictures I've taken since first getting the bike!
Pounding pavement with my TE and the sumo set up I'm using a 15/40 gear set and the bike is much quicker above 80 mph with the knobs hidden in the garage. The distanzias must have very low rolling resistance.
Maybe the last SMS630, sold by the Russian Husky dealer: Now the breaking in is half done and I am planning some modifications, thanks to the ideas, seen on this site.
Don't feel so bad...I paid over $13K for mine...yes thats US Dollars! and that's even after the $6500 discount cause it's a 2011 model. So it's around $19500-$20000 for the latest model (if it were still in production) We've got shit laws on imports down here
Dang, that's ridiculous, over 3X what I paid for mine... How's insurance? And what do you do for a living?
Anything over 250cc (and imported from outside of ASEAN) gets crazy taxes slapped on it. which is why I've been on tiny bikes all my life prior to this. For motorcycles, there's only TLO insurance. Depending on the city, it ranges from 2.5-3.5% I work in the social field and only make mediocre income, but while everyone else will buy cars with their money, I'd rather get a bike If I ever get another big bike, I think I'd rather get an unregistered one. It's usually priced the same as the US price...not street legal, but I'll manage
