Thanks! Kind of a hidden spot but right next to highway 50..... I like the view from here! One more from today. The snow plug about 100 yards from the top of Tincup Pass.
Put the new mirrors on my bike today. Can't really see anything out of them, but I like the cleaner look without the huge stock mirrors. I don't mind doing shoulder checks more often on this bike anyway, the seating position makes it a lot more comfortable than trying to do it on my sport touring bike; for whatever reason that may be.
Do the spokes too!!! It looks even meaner, I promise! I had mine all painted, in hindsight I should have just plasti dipped them and saved myself $220.
Couple of pictures from last weekend. First one is climbing Hurley pass about 1/2 way up, looking at Sugarloaf Mountain. Second is from Bralorne and the Pub patio. Third is up in the Chilcotons after an overnight camp on the way home looking at Castle Mountain. I look like a Wolfman poster boy. You can't even see it all, what can I say I got a really good deal. The set up worked great. Just need to be more efficient packing. First trip with a loaded bike and it worked great. Just need to work on that fuel range.
Took a day trip to the Salak mountain of West Java last weekend... our pitstop at the gate of the forest reservation and a hidden waterfall we found in the forest sorry for the shitty phone pics
I've never used Plati Dip yet so I can't say for sure, but I'd say 1-2 cans would definitely get the job done. That assuming you put approx. 5 layers on. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong! You can do the rims with the tires still on, you should be able to slide tape right under the rim so that you get none of your tires. I had my wheels painted that way and not a drop got on the rubber and you'd never be able to tell. You should check with someone with more knowledge about the Plasti Dip though, I don't want to make you spend more money than you have to! Or the opposite and have you not pick up quite enough.
I used 2 cans, (Home Depot) Did it while on bike, with tires on. Cover brakes etc well. Overspray on tires peels off, as well as spokes
