Got the Husky out finally After a top end rebuild, took the 450 out yesterday on my 20 mile loop. Some shots of one section.
Whats really scary is that I am 54 years old. I don't need to be going this fast. 5th gear in this section, my son thinks I'm touched. Ha Ha
06 smr510 My recently purchased 2006 SM510R. Did a nice 50 miles ride today on and off road, love this thing..
It’s a bit eerie riding on a piece of asphalt that used to be a main HWY at one point, got moved and left for mother nature to claim back Like one of those Discovery channel after the humans are gone shows This turn had a nice banking to it and you can still see the yellow marking on the road Followed by a nice little third and forth gear, bouncing off of the rev limiter run in the fields That magical floating felling of standing on the pegs, holding the bars and letting the bike dance underneath you At one point I’ve just happen to look back and saw a young black bear that I’ve managed to scare out of the woods And then we reach the water I had a great day, hope you guys like
I like That's a fine-looking piece of asphalt, not to mention the lovely machine I was doing a ride up on the north coast of CA deep in the Redwood Empire and realized that a section of quad-width trail used to be a paved road. It had a very faint line down the middle but was quickly being reclaimed by the forest. It was pretty cool! WoodsChick
Well , after looking at the two bikes side by side, I think I like the Husky better. I will admit, though, that I'm a little biased. That is some beautiful Scandinavian scenery, btw.
Thanks for the compliment Woodsy and that’s a cool story It is quite fascinating how quickly nature says; yeah whatever, get the hell out o’here Thanks Sir-bear And no, too flat for Hawaii It’s funny how you say island and immediately those pesky Hawaiians jump and claim it like they have some kindda monopoly on that word Not sure how it is on your side but on the right side there’re many habitable islands all the way from the Island of Newfoundland to Key West Anyways I’m somewhere in the middle
If I can find those pieces i'm gonna buy em. Something breaks just about every time I ride, just the small unkept things from previous owner. Pretty soon it'll all be new.
Just joined up last nite, so here is a pick of my trusty stead in the Gifford Pinchot Nat. Forest. 06 TE450
