After 6 weeks of wishing for some time to get out and ride. Finally got a chance to go. Only hit 50 miles, but I can tell you now that the JD EFi upgrade is excellent. No more flame outs, it just runs like a champ.
Down payment has been given, lots of goodies and protection has been order, including extra air filters, and I have to get my butt to the bank and get the balance due in the form of a Bank/Cashiers check to bring it home. Its "almost mine" if I will hurry up and get my act together. Will post proper pics once set up, but so excited about I just wanted to at least share what is soon to be.
I forgot how expensive it is to outfit a new bike from scratch. Nearly nothing I own will transfer as I have been doing for 6 ktms in a row now. At least the damper itself is universal, but still gotta get a new collar and new mount, as they changed things "just enough" as to make my BRP mount not fit. Not bitching, more shock factor than anything, as its over a grand in bolt ons sitting in the shop, and thats assuming no suspension revalve for a while (But I did need springs though). So the wifey knows the bike purchase value, SHE DOES NOT KNOW the "extras" bill yet....
Had a chance to play on my TE310R this past week while at the Death Valley Noobs Rally. I softened the suspension quite a bit for my typical trail riding and the results were good.
Havent had time for a full session properly in the deep woods single track. However, was able to get a little DS ride in and hit some two track and a pipe line ROW yesterday. I have the jetting pretty close, but the pilot feels fat. Those that noticed the TE300 vs my original picture of a TE250 on the dealers floor, will be rewarded with Tall Tales of fire and deception, and lies abound.
Got the TXC 449 back on the road as my mid size Dual Sport. New battery, lube steering, axles, new rad, fired right up after a few years in storage. Out and about this weekend, didn't miss a beat.
