Getting down to the wire for me, I'm still waiting on a couple parts, I have to work today and tomorrow and the bike is not starting and I dunno why... Plus I did all that trash talking and I'm skeered
KTM? I saw your post about meeting for a ride at EFR. I ride a KTM but would like to find some people to ride with in the Bend area. Any chance I could meet some of you Husky guys out there Thursday or Friday? I'll promise to wear my OLD Husky shirt! Thanks, Steve
You better be more scared if you don't show up due to any of those weak excuses, mister And speaking of excuses, didja notice how xymotic got the holeshot there with his comment awhile back about how his bike wasn't running very good? Pfft...I read that guy like a cheap dime-store novel Yeah, well, whatever...just be there, ok? I mean it. You can ride my little WR144 if you think you're man enough to handle it. A damage deposit will be required, though, as I've seen how much you crash See ya in a few days! WoodsChick
Hi, blkflg! And welcome to CafeHusky. Stick around here long enough and you might re-think that whole KTM thing Come on out and meet some very cool Husky riders. We should be pretty easy to spot WoodsChick
Ok, I'm totally down for a ride out to see Fort Rock or any other cool thing out there. I know I'll need a plate. I'm trying to decide whether to bring my SM610 or my KTM. The KTM is obviously more dirtworthy, but I'd rather bring the 610 if the ride isn't on gnarly trail or too technical. I've got a Pirelli MT60 on the front and a Shinko streety dualsportish tire on the rear. Anyone know what the ride out there is like? Any advice? WoodsChick
EFR is not really very rough, the trails are mostly open and flowy with only a few sections of light gnar to keep you on your toes. The roughest part is the big whoops actually but once you get the rhythm down they're no trouble.
I'm not concerned about the trails in the riding area, I'm wanting to know about the ride out to the big Fort Rock and/or any other routes to must-see stuff that will require a plate. I'm wondering if I should bring my SM610 or my KTM 450. WoodsChick
610. You'll be riding pavement to get there. Unless you want to get busy looking at maps and figuring out an alternate path. You can get there on Forest Service roads... I'm almost sure of it
I forgot to add that I have 3 (count `em...three) ribeyes in the freezer in the van right now. I'm just sayin'... WoodsChick
Right on! I want to see that big ol' hole in the ground, too! And the ice caves! And that big rock! And the State Champion Western Juniper! Oh, boy ExcitedChick
You can get to Fort Rock either on trails OR on a combination of pavement and cinder gravel roads IIRC. I was planning to use the 610 for that ride.
A trip down to Paulina and East Lakes in Newberry Crater could be another sightseeing destination or part of the trip to Ft Rock, depending on fuel range. http://www.oregonphotos.com/pagethirty-Z.html
