Very clean, how much for the aluminum water pump housing??

The OEM plastic ones are extremely hard to find and very rare. I just recently got ahold of one of the last NOS ones for a spare. I now have one on the bike one used one and one brand new NOS one. If you come across another aluminum one let me know please.

Not for sale! It's exactly like the plasic ones, this is the only one I've ever seen!
Although I've never broke a plastic cover as long as I used the guard.

They warp over time though with heat. I have a guard on mine plus the skid plate covers it alittle.

600 bucks, oh man, I've had some scores in the past few months, but that is up there as a great one. That might be the best hard break deal I've heard of yet. Wow, man that is awesome. Cherish that bike, she looks nice, and the price makes it over the top nice. If that is how you found her, she looks real real low hour fresh.

I thought somebody still made those water pump aluminum covers, but perhaps I'm off. That pump cover, would look sweet paired up with the HVA-Factory clutch cover.

The NOS stuff for these is usually, pretty hard to find, depending on the item. I've tracked down a few items for my bikes, but far from every part I'm after.

Who is the maker of that pipe???? Dyno Port? I wasn't sure if I'm reading the tag correctly. Is that one of the few places that still makes pipes for these bikes???? I could see getting one, down the road a bit. Sure looks bitchin And trick!

Ya DynoPort still makes them. I think huskyparts.com carries an aluminum water pump housing made by Billet. Thats pretty much the way i got added water pump, skid plate, headlight, radiator guards, painted the bars, tripple, kickstand new countershaft decal and a whole lot of cleaning. I'll never take her into the deep woods.

Sounds great, thanks for the details/info on the pipe/housing. Great score!

And yeah, I'd never really take any nice bike into deep heavy woods either. Good way to instantly scratch the heck outta all the plastics. Which has me a tiny bit worried, as eventually I'm moving to the Pacific NW, and alotta guys ride in the woods up there. I'm used to opened desert, so the tracks and dunes will be my likely focused riding areas. Not sure what would be a good woods bike. Guess just any brand X bike, that was shorter, with the right power curve.

Just stick to a good european brand.I ride my 88 husky250wr that I bought new, I love it in the tight woods plenty of low end and more foregiving than my 04 Ktm 250exc, that runs too good at times and I end up off in a tree somewhere.

There is no such website as huskyparts.com from what I can tell.

If you are thinking of husqvarna-parts.com it's still a no because it's not listed anywhere on the site. Unless Phillip is hiding them haha.

Please provide link to said aluminum waterpump housing from either husqvarna-parts or dynoport.

Sorry about that, I forgot that Fernando Franco closed up huskyparts.com austrailia on August 1st 2011.
He stated that he was putting all in storage for awhile. I do have his email if needed.
I did talk to Raymond at Hall's Husqvarna and said they can get aluminum water pump housings in black
or natural aluminum for around $160 - $180. A company in europe is making them for Hall's. Hopefully that helps.

I know I'll be after one in a couple few weeks. All the plastic ones I have are warped, as usual.

Thank you for this information. I may get one, too bad I just spent $140 on an NOS plastic one but I may get an aluminum one anyways as it's more reliable. Plus I could always hold onto the NOS one and sell it in years to come when there are no more in the world :)

An Fernando's email would be helpful just to have in case I ever need something special.

Thanks again, I'll give Halls a call.

Would be nice to track down a still active source on those. I'd love to ditch the plastic ones on my bikes. Wonder how hard it'd be to just make one from billet, and not cast to near shape to start with. I'd think those would sell like hotcakes, to all owners of water cooled Husky's. Been alot of businesses started on one item filling a niche, that nobody else supports.

Harder than you might think. If you where to use billet it would hve to be entirely machined which would take extensive equipment such as milles with an adjustable head stock to get proper angles for drilling, possible a 360 degree deck to rotate to proper positions, etc. Easiest way to make one would be to cast it which is still hard to do because now you need a foundry. If someone already had the equipment I'm sure they could take a mold of the original plastic one and pour one to make a cast aluminum one.

Either way, not an easy task; but if you can make it go for it because yes they would sell like hot cakes.

The above photos are of my new kinda 1984 Husky CR 500. I need to have the whole motor reassembled. I live on the east coast in Washington DC. if anyone knows of a good shop that would be able to do this please speak up. The other photo is my 1979 KTM 420. I hope the Husky runs as nice as the KTM when it is finished. I understand that Clark makes a gas tank for this bike. Is that true? I will also need new plastics as someone painted them white very poorly....
