The bike wasn't used in the race, just dragged it out for fun and a bit of tuning.

I'm most interested by vintage enduros, not modern.
Isny ( Germ.) or valli bergamasche ( Ital.) are better for me for watching.
And Brioude ( isdt 80) are the best for vintage revival riding.

repair under way, araldite has set, and we have milled it flat, drilled the seal well and just a touch up in the bearing housing to ensure the clearance is ok with the pump shaft.

Moter under reassembly this week so all go for a final put together this week.

That XC500 is nice! My brother had one just like it and I had the 250XC. I must be getting old-I don't consider my old bike vintage, at least the 80's! Let me tell you just how fast that 500 is. We were at a District 37 desert race in 84. The race was on sunday but we camped out for the weekend. On Saturday we test and tune the bikes for the Sunday race. I borrowed my brothers XC500 to ride around on. There was a 2 lane highway next to the camp area so I jumped on it and let that 500 wind out in 6th. I passed a family in a car-they were doing about 70mph and I was doing about 90-95mph tapped in 6th. That is the fastest I have ever been on a dirtbike-and I have been on a lot of bikes!

Heres a couple of my Husky's. My favorites are the 83 510, the 83 250CR and the 83 430WR, wich btw was owned by Terry Cunningham. After 8 years the 510 has been sitten in a corner of my shop. Poured some fuel in it today and she fired up on the 7th kick. The 86 thumpers are cool too, but the 83 thumper is the topper.

Nope, I dont have any autos. You are right Hvaloz2. That old bke has a maroon tank on it now. I do have a cherry tank for it in the shop thats a pretty red and a few more to boot. That poor 78 was in bad shape, still is, but it turns free now. Needs a new ring and bore job. Ive got some Wisco pistons but I cant remember what box i put them in. Ive got too many parts. That crate behind the 86 tumpers is full of parts and spare motors. There's a 450wr there somewhere and two 250 mag's and a 125
