Ran the bike around in the backyard today and took these.

here.., and by comparison, ktm 500 -86 reed assembly on the left.

it`s some kind of hybrid, wr has six speed gearbox and drum brakes at front & rear. ,i just bought a complete -85 frame without motor, finnish vintage mx rules allow a linkage rear suspension at the "newest" class so maybe i do an update before next season.

Another mystery (sort of)
Finally bought this from a friend. Been sitting in a trailer for most of 17 years. I am the third owner. The original owner bought it for his wife but it was too tall. My friend bought it in 1995 rode it a couple of times and could never get running right. Still has original tires. Can’t wait to get this going.
Entertaining discussions as to what it is, shortly I will put up more pics and see if we can determine the answer.

My money is a late 83 early 84 WR 125 just before the LC units came out....

The plastic tank is an Acerbis, the original tank, seat, and side panels have never been used. The bike is a 1983 WR175 frame # W0009497. I think the bike originally came from Alaska as the box the panels are in were mailed from Husqvarna in San Diego to The Motorcycle Shop in Anchorage AK.

How good is that!

Hi Firecrackerkid - Could you please post up some photos of the side panels, especially any markings or part numbers / made in Sweden etc? To find a set of new ones is a good find.

Great story. I'm guessing it's not finished yet. Those new goodies will look the business on the bike (of course I'm biased as I have an 83 XC with yellow seat ;-)
