What's it like to ride on studded tyres? I've often wondered how much grip can be had on ice.

better grip than any other time of year, sometimes almost too much traction! the 360 really flies with those tires. you have to slightly adapt your riding style being in the snow but its alot of fun and helps with winter depression..i have mine on extra wheels so i just swap everything. one of these days ill get a gopro...

You are correct GaryM. The guy in second place in the points was also riding a Husky (Very nice guy from Louisiana, Mike Aymond) Rare for the GP class which typically has an abundance of Hondas and Yamahas.

I nearly lost the championship in the first moto. Went on the wrong gate drop! Realized it and pulled off, but couldn't get back to the gate in time. So, I was docked a lap and scored last place finish points for the moto. That pretty much eliminated my points lead, with Mike placing 3rd. The championship came down to the final moto of the year. I got the holeshot on the correct gate drop in the second moto and led for a corner until getting passed by the FAST locals who had finished 1st & 2nd in the first moto on a Honda CR and a KX respectively. I had a clean race, rode a decent pace, but not over my head and maintained the gap behind me to clinch the championship.


Was great to race at Rio Bravo, huge turn-out (only Unadilla was bigger this year), seriously hard competition, and excellent track prep. Hospitality was awesome too, free dinners, live music, and nice facilities.

I use the moose racing foam ones on my Beta 300... great for brush protection too..

hi, new to the cafe seems my pictures went up without the text. The husky is a 73 cr 400 rebuilt it about 2 years ago its fast. I added the non husky bike photos cause the often travel as a pack.

Nice bikes James...I like them all. I have a TY250 as well.

Thanks! Yeah me too i watch them all over again in the winter months.
I have some super fine places to ride here in Alberta. Should be a great year, got a new Lectron carb on the bike and a new clutch kit coming. The bike and i will be flying through woods this season.
