This is a nice looking piece. It's the one from the ADV link above. I'm with Travis on the chest pressure. Everything is fine 'till you get to 65 or so and then it's like HANG ON! So I love mine. And it's low enough that I don't look through it, it has a nice lip that kicks the wind up to about face-height. Never even see it on the trail. This the TCI one with their stock screen cut down about 3". The brackets are also available seperately.
The TCi is one of the best designed and allows easy removal. Plus it allows air flow behind the shield to reduce turbulence. Cut down it is perfect. I could have used it the other day on a freeway ride where two of us were putting miles down at 85 mph,, even cruised along at 90 mph for a few miles and had plenty of throttle left to go a bit more. Installed that rear Karoo from your supply and a new front Karoo I had just for some spring pavement fun.
Not pictured, but I just ordered a new airbox cover. I'm going to put it back on and see if I can tell the difference between my modified one and stock. If I can't, I'll leave the stock one on there.
Are the mounting tabs on the TCI winscreen adjustable or are they fixed? I like the headlight protection and if the mounting tabs are adjustable, I think I can make the KTM winshield work on the TCI mount.
The tabs are not adjustable. The screen gets mounting holes drilled where it best fits. That's why yo see a third set for mine because it was dropped about 3" from the original position. The lower framing for the headlight guard broke during the last Death Valley ride. I'm undecided whether I really want it on there, I guess it's a good idea to protect a $130 headlight. So I guess I'll have to drop it back to them for replacement.
Tja Nice forum ... fun! Some pictures of our lovely bikes, 2 weeks old and "run in" with scratches, dents and all, feels so good. We love TE 630 2011, we have tried a few other (690 E, 950/990 adv, 950 GB, 450 exc and TE 310) for a few years but now we think we found our bikes. And what fun to find you all here .... Exciting. Here is a link to our last run at the weekend. View: http://youtu.be/xOW8er-C5o4

SAFARI TANK EQUIPT TE630 TANK BAGS? Recommendations based on experience? Looking at either a GL Fandango or Diablo (leaning towards the Diablo), but it's still a wide open subject for me. Tom in Salem
I have nothing but praise for my Nomad Rider Sherpa. http://www.nomadrider.com/sherpatankbag.aspx I posted a review here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=18125908&postcount=47 _
So, what does one do when their riding partner's adv bike is out for suspension upgrades? Ride the dirt bikes . . check; ride the mountain bikes. . . check. Support the moto community by purchasing more farkle . . . check. Rad cush hub through Woody's Wheel Works: 41-tooth Ironman sprocket (oem was toast at 1700 mi and I don't use the Husky on single-track too often). '
I am very pleased with the airflow characteristics of my TCI windshield. MADSTAD makes adjustable mounts to fine-tune what they have, but for me, it is not needed. http://www.madstad.com/ The TCI windshield mount DOES affect the steering lock if you have a Safari tank. I will eventually get around to modifying the windshield mounts to eliminate this problem. Tom in Salem
Shorai LFX 21Ah, Case type 6 ... a perfect fit. Almost the exact size of the OEM battery, so the great pile of adhesive backed foam was not needed. And it´s almost the same weight as the small cardboard box it came in. Weight loss so far: passenger pegs, Shorai battery, twin Arrows. Weight gain: hand guards, Husky baggage rack. It´d be interesting to find out just how much the SM 630 really weighs.
What was the exact weight of both batteries? FYI, you list Husky rack as adding weight but don't forget about the stock grab handles you removed. Believe it or not only about a single pound difference between the two. Stainless/aluminum versus steel. _ _
