Had an odd mishap in the race. Somehow during a simple slide out the lower radiator hose removed itself from the right radiator (fell on the left side, so even more odd). Lost about 25 minutes because of that, most of which was trying to figure out how to get water back in the bike. Fortunately some spectators happened to walk through and had a bottle of water, which I pretty much took from them
We ran our annual 1hr motocross over the weekend. Made it back to 4th in super vet, after a second lap crash left me in last place This guy put in a fast and consistent hour to finish 5th in vet c - on a CRF230. He's 83 years old
Fund raising practice day at Cairns Club to raise funds for Mitch Evens #43 to get to the junior world titles in Belgium next month. My daughters on the husky 85 and son on the 65 and myself on the 450. Great day
I raced my WR for the first time since I bought it late last season. We had our TT scramble (short course hare scramble) over the weekend. It was a total mudfest, with lot's of rain over the two previous days, but the bike was great, and the Motoz tires worked flawlessly. I battled a full hour with another vet rider on a husky for third and got it. After a couple of real strong years, this has been a lousy season, but Sunday's event was perfect And the competition The last time I raced against this guy was 1976. I quit shortly after, but he stayed at it and turned pro. We've both had a long break from riding, but it's good to be back on a bike.
Well then, you must be headed out on the 27th? Maybe??? I gotta tell ya, is was really cool to see my CH Peeps runnin' w/my hometown classmates at the last CVMX.
I'll be there, whether I get out on the track or not. I will either ride or take pictures. Got a couple of pistons to deliver to somebody up there.
Another good day with the 165 in sun shine for a change lol Wont mention the slight misshap will we guys !!!
SECCA race number 1 for 2014.... The dust bowl they called the Chicken House. My first race in about 2 years.... I can't feel my legs, but getting first in my class was a nice pain killer.
