There are various amounts of oil listed over the years from 1400cc to 1700cc,I have never heard a good reason why as the cases are the same.
I believe the depth of the clutch covers has varied a bit too, and they revised the ml up to 1700 mid-06. I've always measured 1700ml and it's been good, just a 100ml more and the tranny doesn't shift as crisply.
