We looked at a 2009 TE610 today. Same unit as the rest so it will be ready to ship next week. Thanks.
just wrapped up my install of the athena, pcv/autotune, turntech 2.5amp battery........... all thats left is this 1 wire.... on my 09 te250 the 3rd from the end on the top row is black with an orange stripe
That is the one! If you want to be 1,000,000% sure put a DVM on it and it will change in resistance/voltage when the throttle is turned. If the key is on then.... +1V (ish) to 4.?V (ish) volts. If the key is off it would only change resistance. (I don't know, how much you know) Man you sure changed a lot of stuff at once!
i trust you and the instructions, i will button it up here in a second everything went smoothly, just sucks there are people sleeping in my house so i cant fire it up for the first time. thx coffee
Set your alarm clock and do it in the morning. You are at a great well defined stopping point. If you go any farther then you will be up for a long time playing with it - whether it works first time or not.
kick ass, everything seems to be doin what it should, all i did was reset/calibrate the TPS after the first warm up and then started making dirt road passes. after the first run some of the trims were 20 so i accepted the trims then saved the map under a different name, second pass i accepted trims and saved the map again under the same name and overwrited the original file. is this the way to save my own map? is the factory map still intact? hip
You had a map in the PC V, even if it was a null map (all zeros, does nothing). That could have been the Dynojet factory map which are supposed to be available on their website and possibly on the CD they sent you. When you accept trims it overwrites the base map i.e. merges the trim values into the base map and that base map is now different. For example if 10% throttle 5000 rpm base map value was -10 and the trim was +5 then after accepting trims the base map value is -5 and trim value is 0. It is an excellent system, but if you have a base map you care about that needs to be saved in a unique filename on your computer. 'Accept trims' is not reversible.
i see, so accepting the trims automatically overwrites whatever map was in it. when i plug in the computer the bottom of the main screen says te310, power-up, stock exhaust. so i believe mine came loaded already. might take it to the track in a few hours, besides my new front sprocket leak, im excited no more waiting for the RPM's to climb, this thing rips!!
gave it a good flogging at the track, much better, but you really have to make the autotune enable after a certain time or temp. or bike runs pretty bad when its cold hey coffee did you mess with the start up enrichment, what percentage did you you use to get it started easy? hip
Yes, 60 seconds delay for the autotune is default I believe. No need to try to tune a cold engine. I did not know there was an enrichment feature. I'll have to check that out.
I have just ordered a PCV and Autotune for my 08 SM510R, I have read in this thread and others that if you use these in conjunction with each other, it is not absolutely necessary to put the bike on the dyno. I personally am not bothered about fuel economy so I believe the best AFR is around 13.2. Sorry if I've missed the answer to the following question in this thread already, but how do you actually instruct the autotune that you want power rather than economy Cheers Dave
You determine that by the target air fuel ratio in the cells of the map in the DJ software. 13.2:1 is what DJ uses for max power (your bike may enjoy something richer, like 12.5:1) for max power. A dyno would tell you what AFR your bike responds best to.
Dave, Did you get the PCV? I placed an order for the PCV for my 510 and the vendor is saying dynojet hasn't released it yet. Seems odd?
Wilmar If you want to get a PCV for a 2008 510 you have to order one for a 2009 510. You can then copy and paste the maps for the 2008 PC III and put them on the PCV for the 2009. Dynojet will not go back and test a 2008 510 for the PCV. Pretty easy to do, it's been discussed on here before. Lots of info if you search.
Yeah, I ordered a 2009... even went so far as to tell them it was for a 2009. I will call dynojet direct. I have seen a few people posting that they have them so it didn't make any sense.
Ok so from what I have read I should have no problems putting the PCV and the Autotune to my 2008 Husky 450 SMR? So what all comes with it? I will get the power commander, the o2 sensor and the map selector switch? The PCV is $350 and the Autotune is $250 correct? I will probably have some questions when I start so help will be greatly appreciated.
the map selector switch is nothing special- based on DJ DCV instructions- it is an on/off switch, 2 wires... Not a horn switch where it is normal off touch on- but an on/off switch- like this K&S switch not that this switch will necessarily save you money... just an example...
