The taper would refer to the flywheel fitment only? The stator should work using your flywheel I assume, could be wrong. I might also have a working coil. If they are what you need I can try and get it all tested again to be sure it's ok.

That's very helpful of you to offer, thanks. As you say the taper measurements would refer to the flywheel itself. Typically in my experience (limited as it may be) as long as the stator isn't too large a diameter to fit inside the flywheel it should be compatible. What stator do you have? Mine is a motoplat "mini 4", it should say it on the stator. I would gladly take you up on your offer if we can determine the compatibility between the two. Perhaps one of the many helpful chaps from this great forum will chime in. Here's what my stator looks like:

My flywheel States it's a mini 4 hierro if I read it right can and will take loads of pics and measurements. I assume they are the same. Stator itself has very little info other than motoplat branding on the back.
If you get a chance measure the stator and I will do the same.

I misspoke, the stator only has Motoplat stamped on the back of it as you said. The flywheel is stamped: "mini 4 hierro" just like yours which leads me to believe they are indeed the same ignition. My stator plate measures 90mm outer diameter and 26mm inner diameter. The flywheel is ~ 18.3 mm where it fits onto the crankshaft taper, the inside diameter of the flywheel from magnet to magnet is ~ 79 mm. If it makes sense to ship I would be interested in taking them off your hands so long as they test as functional. Youwould be compensated financially of course. Feel free to PM me to discuss or details.
    Thanks,
    Wyatt

It's the same stator, without doubt. I had a few of us running tests on everything when I couldn't get spark to the plug and my Cdi was the culprit, I have 3 coils only 1 works. I don't see the point in us both with not running bikes. I'm just waiting for my parts to arrive and I can send what I have your way. Don't see it costing to much.

You never know when I'll need some bits. Big night, finished brakes, cleaned everything I could reach, lock wired lots. Wish my parts would come.

I bought a HPI system about 2 years ago- thats been the best investment i made so far.
Bike starts first kick, never had a plug failure again... lights do work- i would always recommend HPI !

I recall you recommending HPI a while back when I requested suggestions for a replacement ignition on my bike. I can't speak for others but my issue has been difficulty in pinpointing an actual rotor that will be compatible with my bike. After much back and forth with Willy(very friendly and communicative) from HPI it's still unclear what rotor is suitable. I supplied appropriate measurements, Willy would reply and provide a part number, I would check the specs and while the large diameter taper would coincide the small diameter and angle of the taper would not. This is in no way a judgement on HPI, as I've stated they have been the most helpful ignition supplier BY FAR. What it comes down to is that it is my responsibilty to practice due diligence in order to ensure I find the correct ignition. That's why I'm depending on PabloPaints to be my savior ;) .

Please understand that I'm not really depending on you to be my savior, was a bit of a tongue in cheek remark. That being said, what's the story with that stator...kidding ;)

i also had to sent my parts to HPI to get them measured up- but since its running- i feel its been worth the trouble.

Way I see it is I'm broke, and guessing your not rolling in cash. Keeps 2 old bikes running a little longer and maybe a little sanity for their owners. You never know if one day I might need a favour. I just hope the system on its way from over the ocean arrives, fits and works am one happy man. This bike and the others have kept me going for a few years. No drinking drugs or gambling, just these old bikes and me in sheds that often change I piece together what comes in boxes.

If your seat needs work get a universal cover and a heat gun or hair drier from the mrs , cheap upgrade and makes the bike look much newer, just noticed your avatar pic. Would like to see some good pics. Stator will need a home.

Correct on all accounts. I maintain that if more people were interested in old bikes the world would be a much better place.

I actually got my seat recovered along with having the dents removed from my chamber a few months ago. It really went a ways to improve the aesthetics of my bike. Hopefully with the generosity of yourself and gracious help from other board members I'll have the bike back in fighting shape soon.

Much prefer the rear end on your bike to mine, might look into it..maybe someone here knows if it will work.

I know '92 was a redesign year for the 2T frames and from what I understand they didn't change much until the current Austrian Husky's frame. Concerning interchangeability with yours I am unsure how involved/simple it would be but I'm sure if anyone knows it'll be a member on this forum.
