Cosmokenney, did you remove the lower fuel tank to cover it? Or did you just cover the exposed side?

I just did the exposed side.

It's difficult to remove. Clean with contact cleaner or alcohol prior to installing heat shielding.

Did you guys use HT Silicone spray on the pipe wrap? I didn't get any but now I'm thinking I should before I wrap it.

BTW, I no longer am experiencing any flame outs since I turned out my idle adjust screw. I also did the TPS reset.

If you use the titanium wrap, you do not have to soak it in water first. No silicone spray.

Turning out the idle screw raises your idle into an area of the map where there is more fuel. Many people run their idles as high as 2200 rpm. I run my idle between 14 and 1600 rpm because I have added fuel to both my lower end of the map and have adjusted the accelerator pump to push raw fuel in every time I hammer down on the throttle. This is accomplished with the pcv.

I contacted DEI and they said it's not necessary on either the header or the wrap after it's been wrapped. I cleaned the header with alcohol prior to wrapping to get rid of fingerprints. And since you are going to want to wear gloves for handling the wrap (for splinters) anyway, it's good to put them on before you start cleaning.

What did you guys do on the lambda sensor plug? Wrap around then over it?

You should take it out and plug it off. 12 by 1.25mm oil drain bolt at Autozone I believe, $2.99.

Yes. You can just wrap around that.

Here is the wrap. I since put the stock heat shield back on.

I'd put one of those Tusk pipe guards on too. The DEI get's pretty brittle after a few heat cycles.

Get a aluminum or stainless steel exhaust guard to go over the outside. It will protect your wrap from sand blasting and washing.
