I'll have to keep an eye on this thread. The other week I went to fit my radguard and discovered BOTH top mounting tabs broken off from the radiator. I've got no idea what caused it, it had just had it's 10k service only a couple of hundred ks before, hasn't been crashed. The radiator was sitting about 4mm away from the tabs, so the only thing I can think of is that the mounts didn't line up with the frame mounted bracket and it was forced to fit at the factory, then broke through continued stress.

I've run it past the dealer as a warranty issue, but won't hold my breath. The good news is that the radguard hooks under the radiator, then uses the top mount holes to bolt up, so it actually supports the radiator quite nicely. If factory won't cover it, I'm probably going to leave it go and see if it lasts, I don't see the point in fitting another radiator if it does the same thing.

Actually it wouldn't be that difficult to make some new tabs. Find a chunk of sheet metal and use tin snips. After cutting and bending remember to use direct pressure to control bleeding. Top mounts are riveted in place and make a good templet.

I'd be inclined to believe that happened at the scheduled service. Especially if you had the valves adjusted.

First question I asked was did he take off the radiator. He said he didn't and it didn't look like it had been. Valves weren't done.
