That is probably the nicest looking rack. Too bad it comes from AU. After just using my new ramps, we are more than likely getting rid of my truck, and purchasing either a Pilot, Highlander, or if i have my way, a Sequoia... so i will definetely be in the market for a carrier

Hmmm.....how did I miss this thread when it was started last year?

I use a Joehauler, made locally just a few miles from where I live. Fairly heavy duty and antisway. Not very inexpensive, but I like the product, and supporting a local offroad enthusiast that I personally know.

    Hey Dirtdame,
How does it work with the Jeep? How long is the tongue, and are there any issues working around the spare?
Been wondering how it would work with my Wrangler.

It works great. I've been toting bikes on the Jeep since 2007. The spare is a nice place to lean the bike while getting ready to hook up the tiedowns!

I built one just like that but mine weighs at least 100#s. No one wants it now because it is a ball buster to mount.

The Joehauler weighs about 45-50 pounds. I still don't like fussing with it though, because I'm old.:oldman:

I have a tilting rack that fits in the hitch on my jeep and it works great. I hauled both my husaberg 450 and my wr150 on it on long trips on some rough roads with no issues. It is a back-breaker to install though, I think it weighs about 80lbs and seems to get heavier every time I use it ! Might sell it and get a trailer this year.

Homemade, works great as a bike hauler, remove the channel (2 lag bolts) and it makes a great rear deck to haul just about anything else.
