If your looking to pack stuff i highly recommend the bags from Giant Loop. I am running the MoJavie and LOVE it.
+1. I have a PMB rack and even though I've welded the subframe back together... it ain't never goin back on the bike. MoJavi and a Coyote for me from now on. ps anybody want a PMB rack cheap?
I, too, have the PMB rack. It is extremely well made in all respects. However, the underlying subframe support is not designed for a load when the bike is used off-road. Mine has not broken, but I have seen many pictures of others'. I have dithered about removing the rack but have not because it is a good hand-hold when lifting after a tip-over. And because I can't find a replacement fender that's less than $50.
Just got my Sequoia Tailbag by Cortech to go on my Borrego rear rack. Both purchaced from Turbo City. Very nice tailbag and rack. I'll post pics when I get chance. Jerry
So here's how it all turned out. I basically went from the minimalist approach for onboard storage to I'd say slightly overkill. The rack is nice although it's much bulkier than the OEM and my new Tailbag is very nice although it kind of resembles a carry-on travel bag. The good part is that can be taken off by just undoing the built in bungie straps so I'm probably not going to leave it on when I'm riding trails. I think having this will inspire me to do some more long dualsport trips this summer so I'm excited for the most part. I'll try to post up a couple pics.
All very nice looking stuff. Hers my answer to carrying the extra goodies. It all strips off and the factory rack goes back on once you get to the campsite, takes about 2 mins. to change over.
I like your setup Big guy. That cushion must be plush for long distance rides. Great idea if that's what it is.
Yep that's what it is. it holds a 2 liter bottle on each side and a foam strip in the center. Makes for a real easy chair on the long distance runs. It's a cheap alternative to a custom seat and has the added benefit of carrying 4 liters of water or gas.
Bought it, best $30 I've spent so far. These things have been around for some time but for some reason they just don't seem to catch on. http://www.cycle-analyst.com/sweetcheeks.htm
Here is a few pictures of my new Wolfman set up. With the help of Berg Briggs the mfg of the Wolfman racks and a few hours in the shop. It took a few tries to get the hoops just right but when finished I got the finished product I was looking for (http://doormandan.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/Husky-TE610/IMG0049/875503818_X7JN6-S.jpg)
