I paid a good sum of money to have my seat redone my Renazo to upgrade the poor stock seat. It is an improvement over stock but IMHO not worth the money spent. I still need a better seat. Has anyone had a big seat put on there 610. I have seen ads in adv. rider with big seats on an KLR. My 610 is lowered and set up to for an adventure but the seat is holding me back from a long trip. Any suggestions out there? I may have to look for a stock seat and start all over.

Can you post some pictures? I have a XPC and I like it very much but it is not a couch by any means, Renazo is haled a the greatest seat made perhaps you need to adjust to the new shape and put some miles on it.

I'm not sure it is possible to convert a Husqvarna seat into a uber comfortable seat for the long haul. My impression is instead of 60 miles before numb bum on a stock seat, a redone seat could go closer to 180 miles.

If it were me I would put an ad in the classifieds, or even ask in this thread, if anyone that thinks they have a really comfortable seat could mail it to you for a week. Possibly calling XPC? Maybe they have one they could send you for a week for evaluation?

Doing something like that to get good comparison data would be a great thing.

I highly recommend these. You have to get a bit creative about how you're going to fasten them to the bike if you're going to be doing any aggressive off-roading but they really help and the price is right. Make sure to click on the "sweet cheeks" tab on the left.

That is so funny I just spent the last 10 minute searching for a pictures of that very thing...:lol::lol: couldn't remember the name of them. Also remember one that had containers in the sides maybe for extra fuel etc. I was really thinking of buying or making one for the 510.

They do have containers in the sides, that's what gives you the support. In my case they are a two liter soda bottle on each side. I carry water but you could just as easily fill them with gas if you had a long ride ahead of you.

I think what you are up against here is a bike that wasn't built to have a Lazboy attached to it. The slim design seat, with a high mounting platform is part of the overall off road design. The seat is mounted high so sitting to standing can be done quickly, with little effort and firm (too) with the thought that the rider will be standing much of the time.
I have a Eds Moto seat on my 610 that is still on the firm side and taller than stock. But with a 30" inseam, I asked myself: how high do I want the bike?
You have already compromised the suspension by lowering it and to make the seat considerably softer, you will need to add considerably more fluff, raising the height back up again. So then what? Lower the suspension some more?

I too have a Renazo seat and I have found that adding highway pegs help a lot with longer road rides. It positions my feet forward and higher up which changes the pressure points on my ass. Just a thought.

What year is your 610? What color and material is the seat? I'm looking to have one done but not interested in the wait time...If you're interested in a 600 mile, perfect condition OE seat from an 09 610 let me know. You can get the money back out of your seat and start over...

I too had Don at MrEdsMoto redo mine. Dons work has removed the seat as an obstacle to a long ride, but does make it a touch harder to play offroad due to the extra width. I could easily pick up a stock seat to swap for hard core offroading though so I think this is a great arrangement. I have a 34" inseam and it makes for a slight stretch to the ground, but my butt can now survive a tank of gas without issue.

Here you go skywalker - Rick Meyer in California had a special for the seat below for $269 plus shipping. This just might be the seat you are looking for. It's a little big for my tastes, but it sure looks like a comfortable seat.

No offense, but if I get old and fragile enough to need a seat like that, I'm done riding. Not kidding. Might as well try to mount a rocking chair on the sub frame.

I hear you - but skywalker wants a seat for a long trip and this does look like the best bet for that. :D

I would love to have the Rick Meyer seat. Two friends of mine that I ride with sometimes, ride 650 VStroms and they won't ride the dirt with me. When they ride its never less than 300 miles, and they both have the Meyer day long seats. With the Renazco I'm standing up after 200 or so. With the Meyer seat I could ride with them all day. I could just use whichever seat I needed at the time, Renazco for the dirt and the Meyer for the street. I may have to call.

    I have a solution.

I'll buy your renzaco and trade you my stock seat so you can have another go at it.

How much you want for it?
