That sounds pretty perfect to me. I don't expect to get much away from stock any time soon so 2 basic maps would be pretty great. I would be in for 1 for Xmas if they are ready.
Any news yet from the guys at Rexxer? Was going to go the PCV and Auto Tune route. By reading some of these posts this is right up my alley. My dealer dosent have the moss computer. The nearest BMW shop wont even try to hook it up for less than $200 and if they cant figure it out, still owe them at least 200 bucks. So for check engine lights, etc this would be great. A better MAP would also be equally awesome.
Between Mag00 and I , we have been in contact with David at Rexxer on a weekly basis. He is diligently working on it. He has the ECU on the bench and working on decoding. He did mention it is a tricky one and is definitely up to the challenge. I may be down his way for work again this Thursday/Friday and will be stopping by to see him. I will see if I can get a detailed update and post. Keep up the faith, this is going to work sooner or later.
Maybe all of the Canadians on the board can go together and buy the Professional version of the Rexxer, I am not sure what the cost would be to purchase extra credits to use it on all our bikes, but it might be more affordable then every one of us buying our own. Since there is no Moss tool in Canada for our Husky's there would be lots of us interested in one, we could send it through the mail to guys as needed without any boarder crossing hassels. Its not something you would need very often anyway, but sure nice to have one a day or two away. Does anyone have any experience with the pro model and credit purchase needed to use the tool on more then one bike?
Unfortunately the word is not good for the Rexxer, at this time. Seems like the computer on the TR650 might be more of a challenge than the folks at Rexxer are willing to take on at this time. Toyboy has informed me that he has picked up his bike, after so graciously lending it out for the development. Thanks Dave! I will let him tell ya'll how things went. To clear any questions, there are three Daves involved here. Dave-me, Dave-Toyboy and David-rexxer.
Not cool man, not cool. Hope you feel good about yourself. You have officially ruined Christmas. Had my hopes up for this machine, so did almost every other Canadian Terra/ Strada rider due to our not so awesome Husky support. To all involved, thanks for taking your time to try and figure this out.
Mine too. You must have been naughty. But since you are closer to Santa, maybe you can put in a good word and get us back on track? But to get the yoyo bouncing, I have contacted the main office and here is the reply. Hi Dave! Thank you for all the information. I know about this ECU and David asked me about it. We are still checking it. I will update you monday if we can do something for it next time it not. MfG Chris Schimmelschmidt Now there is some customer service! I don't know what the time zone is, but I got this on Sunday, which far exceeds my expectations. I have no doubt as to their ability to being able to crack into our ecu, it's what they do, but that costs money. If only two people want the Rexxer and willing to buy one, that is not a good business move to develop it. I don't know if a "show of hands" would help, but I doubt it could hurt.
Consider my hands raised! I am waving them around as well. The only thing I would like to change on this bike is the fuel map and I was hoping for this device to do so.
Nothing definitive yet, but I am not on this any more. Evidently I am a pest by asking the tough questions like, how can I help, and expecting a reply or update. Sorry I dragged ya'll into this. (hanging head in shame)
No shame bud. Much thanks for all that you've done. Hopefully something will come of it eventually. We wouldn't be this far if not for this Dave.
My hand's up too... I'm not as up on FI as I should be but why don't Rexxer or other vendors start with a blank ECU from Marrelli or whatever manufacture and load the proper fuel maps? I'd bet that Marelli sells the ECU as generic to work on many vehicles. The differences being the programs and cable connections. Why not start with a clean slate? If it meant giving up ABS and the IGN Immobiliser I'm cool with that.
