and you guys in europe in general seem to love standards much more than the states...its just a convenience thing, people dont want to do it and are tired of it. just upsets me because the selection of manual vehicles is really bad now. most every vehicle ive had has been manual.
Nope, it was a vote by the people from what I've heard here...Be-careful, or someone might get a free education.
i refuse to buy anything but a manual & turbo diesel 4WD for that matter. dunno what the actual gun laws are(don't own any but do like shooting!) here but know youre not allowed pump action shotties & semi or full auto rifles. basicly bolt or lever action only. handguns have forever been banned(except with licences for gun clubs etc). theres enough meth heads over here as it is without having to worry about guns. Walter White has a lot to answer for! anyway back to road rage
The service sent me to GR in the late 80s ... Their society was such that anything less than A.J. Foyt driving skills on the road was not acceptable ... The bikers were up++ there with AJ also ...
Ray Ray... The lack of pride really shows with folks that hog the left lane even when flashed for a pass. They take it as an afront, an insult, when it's a courteous reminder a faster vehicle wants to pass. There is some lame logic in the US today that texting, squatting and being an ignorant texting road hog is the proper way to drive. Stay right except to pass is now unheard of. So is a common street sign Curb your Dog. People today have their dogs shit on your lawn, front porch, steps, etc... Ignorant society.
The last yr or so I lived there, I used public transportation as much as possible to save gas and stop the driving ... Too bad the states did not develop a rail system and this topic may never have existed ... Not sure what happened along the way but I can remember when I was a youngster and the word was our generation was not gonna fare well when we grow up ... I'm 57 and looking around at the state of everything, they might have been right ... The fix for today is a new generation needs to grow up and replace what we have now. It's a crap shoot what they'll bring. On the positive side, the older you get, the less you care. I'm sure you have heard of the driverless cars ... Tractors might be testing that stuff also for the last few yrs, not sure ... Not totally driverless but alot is automated I think ... It will be a hard sell maybe but should arrive in the not too far future ..
driverless cars=cars crashing into me while i cling onto my "old school" manual cars=road rage will exist forever
Some of the newer shift-able automatic transmissions are damn nice! The 6 speed auto (in my '13 F150) tied to the 5.0 V8 is nice!! It's like having a manual with no clutch. Good stuff.
Take the guns away, vote or no vote doesn't matter and bad people will resort to hammers to bludgeon you to death. Guns don't change a mans heart.
Or....you could all just move to country NSW where I live. Everyone (almost everyone, you still get the odd dickhead) is courteous to each other, and we very rarely have a road rage incident. The road ragers that we do have are always city slickers that have moved out from Sydney or somewhere, and aren't the friendly country locals. I don't know if its because we are out in the bush or what, but if you don't drive a manual (or stick), people will call you a girl or think you are a wanker. Almost everyone I know drives a manual. And a lot of my mates have guns (again, because we are in the country, and do a lot of varmint shooting on farms). Most of my mates utes would have a rifle behind the seat, but no one walks round with a pistol in their pocket. You don't feel that threatened that you feel the need to protect your self. Out here, I can leave the keys in my car unlocked in the main street all day, I would let my little sisters walk where they need to by themselves, and everything is fine. I couldn't imagine a life where everywhere I go, I need to think about if someone's about to murder me. I think I might just stick with country Australia for the time being.
I grew up in northern Wisconsin and we never locked the doors on the house or vehicles. There's still places like that here but not as many. Our problems are all big city related. I avoid cities at all costs. I'm a country boy through and through and I'd take a manual transmission any day. I was driving at 12 working on a farm shifting an old international harvester pickup. The clutch was so stiff I needed both legs to push it. I wouldn't trade my youth experience nothing. It made me who I am.
