lots of speculation for years.....word on the streets, but there are hot items/ names named... hanging in the boardrooms of the big money sponsors of the AMA SX and MX series......
was going to press the like button......its never going to be just a rider/team issue...there is alot sponsor money thrown out there as well. Personal/political all in one. Think world class bicycling and olympic sport and baseball and football etc etc ......I know nothing but it was only a matter of time, over here in the moto world. Lets see what happens its only rumor....
I harbor suspicions that Ryan Villopoto's ditching of the 2014 outdoors has more to do with dodging blood/urine tests than it does with repairing a lingering injury. It's sad to say, but I have a feeling there is a lot of performance enhancers in the MX/SX ranks.
I dont think so, he has needed it for a while and they are not testing now. This is going to be a mess.
After watching drug testing play out over and over thru a couple decades, I don't believe any of it is fair testing ... I'll just 'can' this sport also, same as all the other PRO sports I stopped watching due to the clown acts ... Yep, that $ and all it encompasses is what will drive the results of the testing ... Just another dog&pony show ... This sport really gets no mainstream PUB really ... We'll see if the mainstream news picks up on this dirt.
[quote="ray_ray, post: 422373, member: 1024"This sport really gets no mainstream PUB really[/quote] SX was aired live on Fox1, thats pretty good.
Right, sx\mx have the races shown on the air in live time and maybe fox with go the sport for more than this yr ... I just don't wanna see the sport taken any lower than it is already ...
Well lets just continue that way and do not kill off our young riders with the same saga played out by many other PRO sports with their drug stuff ...
Here's the link where testing was announced ... Some of the people looking at the results are listed on the page. This is about the end of this for me but I did read this article and it seems to indicate the testing started for the outdoors racing season ... http://www.promotocross.com/mx/news/anti-doping-program-coming-motocross
This has been done before, and Stewart and Villopoto passed .... http://www.vitalmx.com/news/news/Drug-Testing-Comes-to-Supercross,2981 It seems to me that the skillsets required to set one head-and-shoulders above the rest, are much less tangible and masterable than that of other pro sports such as Football and Baseball. Also, we all know that muscle mass and braun are a negligible factor in racing. I don't think we'll see any widespread use among the elites of the sport. I would be less surprised if we see it in the people on the second tier, lacking the focus of their skillset and racecraft to reach the top, who are willing to try anything to get there. Villopoto ain't dodging any doping tests. Let's wait for evidence, if any, before we speculate on the accomplishments of our sport's best. They deserve the benefit of the doubt, and we owe them it.
Some of the fastest kids at our local mx tracks growing up I could kick their ass w/ my left hand, off the bike. Either you have it or you don't. Fast is fast and fast kids use little or no energy. The kid I'm teaching now doesn't know what tired is on a bike yet. I was never so lucky. Still, doping in this great sport will break my heart.
It's stew from a prescription. http://motocross.transworld.net/100...14-seattle-sx/?sm_id=social_20140620_26355856
